Huawei won’t ditch Google Play forever unless it’s forced to

Things have been quiet on Huawei’s side of the mobile market lately, partly because of the attention that the likes of Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S20 and Galaxy Z Flip are getting. It’s also partly because of the tension between the US and China have mellowed down a bit. That could end up getting the ban on Huawei lifted which puts … Continue reading

Rollout Of Rebuilt Apple Maps For The US Is Now Complete

It has been a few years since Apple first released Apple Maps. The service did not get off to a good start where due to various bugs and issues, it failed to function properly as a map. Over the years, Apple has since made various improvements to its service, where the company has since recently confirmed that the rebuilt version of Apple Maps for the US is now complete.

According to Apple executive Eddy Cue, “We set out to create the best and most private maps app on the planet that is reflective of how people explore the world today. It is an effort we are deeply invested in and required that we rebuild the map from the ground up to reimagine how Maps enhances people’s lives — from navigating to work or school or planning an important vacation — all with privacy at its core.”

Cue adds that following the rollout to the US, they will be moving onto Europe next. “The completion of the new map in the United States and delivering new features like Look Around and Collections are important steps in bringing that vision to life. We look forward to bringing this new map to the rest of the world starting with Europe later this year.”

For those unfamiliar, some of the new features of Apple Maps include Look Around, which has been likened to Google’s Street View. At the moment the feature is still somewhat limited to a handful of cities, but we imagine that over time, it should be available to more.

Life-Sized Baby Yoda Statue Is Now Available For Pre-Order

Disney Plus’ The Mandalorian proved to be a huge hit. The series was highly entertaining and we’re sure that many are eagerly anticipating the release of the second season. However, one of the aspects of the show was actually the appearance of what has become affectionately known as “Baby Yoda”.

For those who are unfamiliar, this is a creature whose race is believed to be the same as Yoda, but in the series, he is considered a baby, where his big eyes and tiny cutes managed to win over the hearts of the internet. The good news is that if you wanted your own Baby Yoda, you’re in luck thanks to the folks at Sideshow Collectibles.

The company has recently taken the wraps off an official statue of Baby Yoda that will be life-sized, meaning that its size will be more or less the same as in the show. We have to say that out of all the official and unofficial merchandise we’ve seen to date, this is probably the most realistic and accurate we’ve seen.

It will be priced at $350 which isn’t exactly cheap, but if you’re a fan of the series and have to have it, you can head on over to Sideshow’s website and pre-order it now. The statue is expected to be released in August-October 2020, so you will have to wait quite a bit for it, and it will be just in time for the show’s second season.

Fujifilm X-T4 Confirmed With Flip-out Selfie Display

According to a recent report from Fuji Rumors, it seems that the upcoming Fujifilm X-T4 could come with a flip-out selfie display. As it stands, Fujifilm’s X-T series comes with a display that can only tilt one way, but it looks like with the X-T4, Fujifilm might introduce a flip-out display that can also double up as a selfie display.

If you’re wondering why this sounds familiar, it is because this seems like a feature that Fujifilm will be introducing to more than just one camera this year. Previously we had heard a rumor that the upcoming X100V could also sport a two-way flip-out display, and with this new rumor, it seems that this is a feature Fujifilm wants to bring to more of its cameras this year.

Needless to say that this should be taken with a grain of salt for now, but some of the other rumored features of the X-T4 include in-body image stabilization, a feature that was only previously exclusive to the X-H1, but could now be finding its way to more Fujifilm cameras in the near future.

Also, if the rumors are to be believed, the Fujifilm X-T4 will be officially announced on the 26th of February, so do check back with us next month if you’d like all of the official details.
