Apple’s Wearables Business Is The Size Of A Fortune 150 Company

When it comes to smartwatches, there’s no denying that Apple has pretty much that market covered. However, it seems that Apple’s wearables business could be a lot bigger than most of us would have anticipated, because according to the official revenue figures, revealed by Apple’s CEO Tim Cook, the company’s wearables has pulled in enough money to make them as big as a Fortune 150 company.

Apple’s wearables is said to have brought in as much as $10 billion in revenue in the latest quarter, up from $7.3 billion from a year ago. This consists of products like the Apple Watch, the AirPods, Beats headphones, and oddly enough the HomePod as well, even though it isn’t exactly a wearable.

It has also been reported that 75% of Apple Watch buyers are new to the Apple Watch, suggesting that Apple has managed to continuously court new customers to their wearable over the years. It is actually quite an impressive figure in terms of revenue, but also the fact that the company’s wearables have managed to overtake its Mac revenue, a product that was pretty much Apple’s core business ever since the early days.

Apple is expected to launch a new Apple Watch this year which we imagine will be adding to their revenue, although not much is known about the Series 6 at this point in time.

Pokemon Home Cloud Storage Service Announced for $3 A Month

In the past few years, we’ve seen quite a number of new Pokemon games launched. With so many games launched, we imagine that players might find it hard having to juggle between the different games, especially since they might have spent quite a lot of time on one game collecting Pokemon, only to have to start from scratch when playing another.

The good news is that if you’re an avid Pokemon gamer, the Pokemon Company has announced an upcoming cloud storage service known as Pokemon Home. What this service does is that it is basically a “bank” for your collected Pokemon from games such as Pokemon Sword and Shield, Pokemon: Let’s Go, and there is also support planned for Pokemon GO.

According to the company, “Users can move Pokémon back and forth between Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! or into Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield. Once a Pokémon from Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! or Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! is moved to Pokémon Sword or Pokémon Shield, it cannot be returned to its original game.”

There will be two versions offered: a basic plan and a premium plan, the latter of which is priced at $3 a month and will offer up more features as well as larger storage the number of Pokemon that can be deposited. Pokemon Home is expected to launch in February 2020, but no specific dates were mentioned.

Full Fujifilm X100V Specs Leaked

For those shopping about for a new compact camera, Fujifilm’s X100 series is actually a pretty popular choice amongst photographers. In fact, if the rumors are to be believed, Fujifilm is working on a new model in the form of the Fujifilm X100V and whose specs were recently leaked on Twitter by Nokishita.

In terms of the megapixel count, we’re looking at a 26MP APS-C X-Trans CMOS 4 sensor where it will come with a 23mm lens that sports an aperture of f/2.0. This effectively makes the X100V pretty similar to its predecessor, the X100F, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing as a 23mm lens does make it rather versatile.

The lens will also come with a 4-stop ND filter and it will also support an ISO range from as low as 80 while going up to 51,200, although we imagine at those levels, your photos could end up looking rather grainy. The camera will also support SD cards for storage of your photos and videos, while sporting an EVF and a 3-inch LCD monitor on the back of the camera.

There is also support for 4K video, although it seems to be capped at 30fps, while lower resolution videos can go up to 60fps. There is also support for Bluetooth and wireless connectivity for file transfer. There is no official word on the camera just yet, but it is expected to be announced on the 4th of February during the Fujifilm X Summit live stream.
