These days in terms of gaming, the focus is on Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo. This is versus back in the day where companies such as Atari were extremely relevant. These days, while Atari is still known, it is no longer the gaming powerhouse that it once was, but it seems that the company is hoping to stay relevant in this day and age.
How so, you ask? In the form of Atari themed hotels. No, Atari isn’t getting into the hotel business, but rather it seems that the company will be licensing out its brand to True North Studio, a real estate developer in the US, and the GSD Group. This is expected to result in Atari branded hotels that will be spread out across eight cities in the US.
According to the press release, “The Atari hotels will feature common areas following the latest trends in hospitality, with a focus on the video game universe and the Atari brand. They will include a state of the art eSport studio, an Atari gaming playground, meeting and event rooms, co-working spaces, restaurants, bars, a bakery, a movie theatre and a gym. They are targeted at family or business travelers, providing a luxurious, relaxed and one-of-a-kind experience.”
The first hotel is expected to break ground in Phoenix, Arizona in 2020. Other cities are expected to follow after, including Austin, Chicago, Denver, Las Vegas, San Francisco, San Jose, and Seattle.

The license plates of our cars are pretty standard in terms of their design, and they are basically used to identify individual cars. In terms of customization, there is the option of purchasing a vanity plate, but even then, they’re still pretty much consisted of letters and numbers, but that could soon change if you live in Vermont.
In a recent bill introduced by Democrat Rebecca White, it seems that it is being proposed that drivers can add an emoji to their license plates, giving it a bit more color and personality. So if you’ve ever wanted to drive around with a poop emoji on your license plate, you might soon be legally allowed to do so in Vermont.
The bill, if passed, would allow drivers to choose between six different emojis to their license plates. This would be in addition to the letters and numbers that would typically accompany a license plate, so it’s not as if you can drive around with a single emoji on your license plate. That being said, the bill has yet to be passed so don’t get too excited just yet.
Also, while Vermont could be the first state in the US to potentially allow emojis on their license plates, they are not the first in the world. That title goes to Queensland, Australia where drivers could add emojis to their plates back in 2019.

Just last year, Apple launched their video streaming service Apple TV+. Prior to the launch, Apple had been busy going about buying up shows and courting A-list actors and celebrities to create shows for their platform. Now it looks like Apple could be looking to progress by buying up a movie studio.
In a report from CNBC, it seems that Apple might have held preliminary acquisition talks with movie production studio MGM. However, before you get too excited, these are just preliminary talks to gauge interest in a potential acquisition, meaning that nothing official has been signed or that there is any progress beyond these talks.
There is no doubt should these talks progress further and Apple does eventually acquire MGM, it would give them a pretty huge catalogue of shows that they could add to their Apple TV+ streaming service. That being said, it seems that Apple isn’t alone in their interest either, as it is reported that Netflix was also amongst those that MGM held talks with.
It makes sense for Apple and Netflix to be interested in acquiring MGM. With the stiff competition in today’s market, especially with companies like Disney who not too long ago bought out Fox, companies like Apple and Netflix could definitely stand to benefit from owning a major production company like MGM if they hope to stay relevant and competitive.
