iOS 14 Will Most Likely Run On All iOS 13 Capable Devices

iOS 13 dark modeWhen it comes to software updates, Apple has generally done a pretty good job at ensuring that as many devices as possible are compatible. If you have an older iOS device and you’re wondering if the upcoming iOS 14 update will be compatible with your device, you might be pleased to learn that there is a good chance that it will.

According to a report from French website iPhonesoft, they are alleging that all devices that are running on iOS 13 will be able to run on iOS 14. This is pretty good news for those who are hoping to keep their devices around for at least another year or so, although how optimized it will be for older devices remains unclear.

According to the report, the supported devices for iOS 14 includes the iPhone SE, iPhone 6s and 6s Plus, the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, the iPhone 8 Plus, the iPhone X, the iPhone XS and XS Max, and the iPhone 11, 11 Pro, and the 11 Pro Max. It’s interesting that devices like the iPhone SE could still be supported, but like we said, it’s good news for those who aren’t quite willing to make the upgrade.

Take it with a grain of salt for now as nothing official has been confirmed, but Apple has been known to support devices for many years on end, so we wouldn’t be surprised if the list of supported devices turns out to be true (or partially true).

AI Predicted The Wuhan Virus Outbreak Before Everyone Else Did

As many of you are familiar by now, there is an outbreak of a new coronavirus that originated from Wuhan, China. It is a pretty serious issue as it seems that despite the best efforts by China, the virus has managed to spread to various parts of the world and there have also been reports of infections in the US.

Naturally, the World Health Organization and other organizations and governments around the world have since sent out warnings to the public about the virus, but it appears that thanks to the use of AI, a Canadian company by the name of BlueDot might have actually predicted the outbreak ahead of other major organizations.

BlueDot relied on an AI-driven algorithm that scours platforms like foreign news reports, animal and plant disease networks, along with official proclamations to make its predictions. Based on that, BlueDot actually managed to warn its customers to avoid places like Wuhan on the 31st of December, a week or so ahead of others like the WHO who sent out a public notice on the 9th of January, while the US CDC sent theirs out on the 6h of January.

The use of AI in the medical and health sector isn’t new, where we have seen how it can be harnessed to spot health issues before they might happen, or to spot diseases in patients that a human doctor might have otherwise missed.

Uncharted Movie Has Been Delayed To 2021

It has been a few years since Sony announced plans to create a movie based on the Uncharted video game franchise, but it seems that for whatever reason, directors keep dropping out during the process. The movie had been previously slated for a release in 2020, but now according to a report from Deadline, it has been pushed back to 2021.

More specifically, it has been delayed to March 5, 2021. While this might seem like a long wait, it should be noted that previously, Sony had initially planned on releasing it on the 18th of December, 2020, so in reality this delay will only add about 3 months or so to the overall waiting time, which isn’t too bad.

The movie was previously supposed to be directed by Travis Knight, but he dropped out following some scheduling conflicts involving the movie’s lead actor, Tom Holland of Spider-man fame. The movie is now said to be led by director Ruben Fleisher where it will also star Mark Wahlberg.

Given the popularity of the Uncharted franchise, many are no doubt looking forward to the release of the movie, which barring any issues should be out next year. Whether or not it’ll live up to the hype, which has no doubt been built up by the constant delays, remains to be seen.
