Fujifilm X-T4 Mirrorless Camera Announced With In-Body Image Stabilization

One of the things that many Fujifilm photographers probably wanted in the company’s cameras is probably in-body image stabilization. Fujifilm made this a reality with the launch of the Fujifilm X-H1, but oddly enough the cameras that followed did not adopt the feature, at least until now where Fujifilm has unveiled their latest flagship, the X-T4.

While externally the X-T4 looks very much like its predecessor, the biggest change probably has to be IBIS. For those wondering why this is a big deal, it is because prior to this, photographers who wanted image stabilization had to rely on lenses that came with the feature which limited their options.

However, by including IBIS, it pretty much means that any lens attached to the camera will be able to benefit from it. In addition to IBIS, Fujifilm has also improved on other areas of the camera like the rear touchscreen display, which now has a higher resolution that should make it clearer and sharper. It also flips out to the side that helps if you’re trying to snap a selfie or vlog.

Fujifilm has also made improvements to the mechanical shutter on the camera, where they claim that it is now quieter compared to the X-T3, and has been rated for 300,000 shots, which means that it should last longer. It can also capture more at 15 fps versus the X-T3 which had 11 fps. The company has also changed the algorithms used for autofocus where they claim it is now more accurate when it comes to tracking eyes and faces.

Apart from that, the rest of the camera is more or less identical to the X-T3, where it will continue to use the same 26.1MP X-Trans 4 CMOS sensor with the same X-Processor chip. In terms of pricing, the X-T4 will be priced starting at $1,699 for the body-only. The company anticipates the camera’s release in April, but due to the coronavirus outbreak, they could face production delays.

Apparently Apple Will Not Let Bad Guys In Movies Use iPhones

Product placement in movies is pretty common. We see it all the time, where sometimes we see characters in movies use computers and phones and cars from a variety of companies, so it shouldn’t really be a surprise if every now and then, you come across a movie where a character is using an iPhone.

All of this sounds pretty normal and standard, and while Apple does not have a problem with product placement, it seems that the company does have certain rules on how its products can be used or portrayed. In a video with Vanity Fair, director Rian Johnson revealed a piece of little-known trivia.

According to Johnson, who was breaking down the scenes in his Knives Out movie, he revealed that Apple does not allow bad guys in movies to use an iPhone. “Another funny thing … I don’t know if I should say this or not, haha! … It’s very interesting. Apple, they let you use iPhones in movies, but — and this is very pivotal, if you’re ever watching a mystery movie — bad guys cannot have iPhones on camera.”

Presumably this is due to Apple’s concern about their image, where they don’t want the iPhone to be associated with villany of any kind. We’re not sure how true this is, but we wouldn’t be surprised as companies probably have different rules when it comes to featuring the use of their products, especially in the mainstream media.

Apple Has A Hi-Tech Car Seat To End All Hi-Tech Car Seats

Whether or not the day will come when Apple unveils their own car remains to be seen, but for now, it seems that the company is definitely showing a ton of interest in automobiles with the various patents we’ve seen the company file for in the past. In fact, here’s another you can add to the list.

According to a recently-discovered patent, it seems that Apple has filed a patent for a hi-tech car seat. The patent talks about how the problem with car seats these days is that over time, they can get worn out, where the trimming and material can get stretched over time and may longer hold the shape it used to when it is new.

To combat that problem, Apple has come up with a system involving a series of rollers that can tighten and stretch the material of car seats to accommodate the user over time. “An adaptive tensile control system includes a covering couple to a motorized retractor operable to release and retract the covering in response to control signals. An adaptive seat suspension includes a flexible suspension mat coupled to a motorized retractor operable to release and retract the flexible suspension mat in response to control signals.”

It also mentions that instead of a car seat that comes with a heating element inside it, which is awesome during the colder days, it could also incorporate fans that can help blow cool or warm air through the fabric. That being said, as it is a patent, there is no guarantee that Apple will make this a reality, but the company’s growing interest in cars is definitely something to keep an eye on.

Marijuana compound may be a powerful treatment against MRSA

A non-psychoactive compound found in cannabis (“marijuana”) may work as well as a ‘powerful antibiotic’ in treating Staphylococcus aureus, more commonly known as MRSA. The discovery comes amid the growing problem of antibiotic-resistant bacteria, which is difficult to treat and potentially deadly. The findings join the recent discovery of a new antibiotic compound made by artificial intelligence earlier this month. … Continue reading
