New ‘Silent Hill’ Movie Is In Development

Ever since Hideo Kojima left Konami and the Silent Hill game that he was working on was basically cancelled, many have been left wondering what will become of the Silent Hill franchise. We doubt that Konami would be ignoring it given its popularity, and we were right, sort of, because it looks like a new Silent Hill movie is in the works.

Speaking to French publication Allocine, director Christopher Gans has revealed that he is working on a new Silent Hill movie. Gan was quoted as saying, “I have two horror film projects with [producer] Victor Hadida. I am working on the adaptation of the video game Project Zero. The film will take place in Japan. I especially don’t want to uproot the game from its Japanese haunted house steeting [sic]. And we’re also working on a new Silent Hill.”

At this point it might be too early to tell what the movie will be about and who will be cast in the movie, but this is not the first time that we saw a Silent Hill movie made. The first movie was released back in 2006, meaning that the time that passed in between will be at least 14 years, if not more, depending on when it will be released.

In the meantime, we have also heard rumors that Konami has been asking developers to pitch ideas for a new Silent Hill game. The rumors are claiming that two potential games have been selected, one of which will apparently be episodic-like in nature, while the other will be a soft reboot of the franchise.

Photo Of Fujifilm X100V Leaked

The other day thanks to a leaked photo, we might have caught a glimpse of the upcoming Fujifilm X100V digital camera. It wasn’t a particularly clear photo and it showed the camera in real-life, although if anything, it did at the very least confirm one of the rumors which suggested that the camera might have a two-way flip-out display.

Now thanks to a tweet by Nokishita, what appears to be a press render of the X100V has made its way online, giving us a clearer look at what we might be able to expect. However, the leak only shows the front part of the camera, which at a glance pretty much looks like its predecessor, the X100F.

There are some subtle differences to the camera, and as Fuji Rumors notes, the leak also seems to confirm that the X100V might use a new lens compared to the X100F. The rumors claim that the X100V will sport a 23mm f/2.0 lens. This is more or less confirmed in the photo, but it also shows that it might use the MK II lens.

Exactly what kind of difference this lens has over its predecessor remains to be seen. That being said, it has been speculated that Fujifilm might officially announce the X100V at the Fujifilm X Summit on the 4th of February, so check back with us in the next couple of days for more updates, if there are any to be had.

Coronavirus Might Negatively Impact Apple’s Q1 Shipping Forecast

Given that a lot of Apple’s products are manufactured and produced in China, naturally some have been wondering with the new coronavirus making its rounds, could it have an impact on Apple’s future iPhone launches? While one of Apple’s partners, Foxconn, claims that it won’t, some seem to disagree.

According notable Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, he claims that with the new virus making its rounds in China and around the world, it could have a negative impact on Apple’s shipping forecasts for the first quarter of the year. Based on this, he has revised his shipping estimates for iPhones in Q1 2020 to 36-40 million units, which is apparently 10% lower than before.

Apple might not be alone in being affected by this because according to Kuo, he says that he has seen smartphone shipments in the Chinese market decline by as much as 50-60% year-over-year, which could either be due to the fact that this is the Chinese New Year and many companies take a break during the period, or it could be due to fear of the virus which has led to some companies closing down temporarily.

Apple themselves have also taken some precautions where all of its corporate offices, stores, and contact centers in Mainland China have been shut down through February 9 due to the virus outbreak.
