It seems we’ve learned absolutely nothing from cautionary tales like the Terminator films, because researchers in Japan have upgraded a robot that looks like a human child with the ability to feel the pain from an electrical charge applied to its skin and wince in pain.
As smart speakers have become a ubiquitous part of our day-to-day lives, so too has it become clear these devices may not be as private as they appear at first blush—that they may be listening in even when they shouldn’t be, that recordings may contain sensitive information that we didn’t realize was being uploaded to…

Huawei already had a foldable smartphone last year – the Mate X, which was pretty impressive.
Even though you may not be able to get one for yourself now, Huawei has announced a successor to it – the Mate Xs.
It may not be a complete overhaul but a refined version of Huawei Mate X.
To start with, it features the powerful Kirin 990 5G SoC coupled with 8 Gigs of RAM. Keeping aside the 512 GB of storage onboard, the new foldable phone sports a completely new hinge mechanic when compared to its predecessor.
Being a foldable phone with a 6.6-inch main OLED screen, combined with the secondary screen you will get an 8-inch tablet when unfolded.
So, you can comfortably use it as you like. It features a 40 MP primary rear camera, 16 MP ultra-wide sensor and an 8 MP telephoto lens. You will also be able to get an impressive 30x hybrid zoom.
You can expect it to be powered by a 4500 mAh battery along with a 55W fast-charging support.
Not just limited to that, the cooling system has also improved and the new hinge system should be potentially more robust than the original Mate X.
In addition to the Mate Xs, they’ve also announced a Huawei AppGallery, HUAWEI MatePad Pro 5G, new MateBook laptops, and few more devices (network equipment). You can get the device for €2,499 starting next month.

Nowadays, a lot of tasks are being replaced by robots instead of humans. In a way, that is a good thing – to increase the efficiency and potentially decrease the workload from a human worker.
The same can be said for changing tires. Of course, changing tires isn’t rocket science – however, sometimes it takes a while for a service mechanic to change your tires.
If you had a robot to do the job, maybe it would have done it quickly for the whole working day without breaking a sweat.
RoboTire is meant for what you always needed – potentially faster, better, or a cheap solution to change tires.
Whether it will be a cheap service or not – we still cannot be sure but it is going to be a faster solution. According to TechCrunch‘s report, it looks like the robot can help you change a set of four tires in 10 minutes.
When compared to a human mechanic, it is obviously faster. For now, the company will work with a couple of service centers willing to use the robot and purchase it.
The approximate cost that a company using this robot would charge be around $5 to $10 per tire while the cost of the robot is around $250,000.
Even though it is an expensive solution to have right now – once implemented, it should make things easier and you would probably no longer have to wait for a long time to get your tires changed.
