Dolphins And Swans Are Returning To Venice’s Canals Following Coronavirus Lockdown

Italy is currently in lockdown where residents are told to stay at home. This is due to the coronavirus outbreak in which social distancing seems to be the only way to keep the outbreak under control without putting too much strain on an already-taxed healthcare system.

While the virus has been wreaking havoc on humanity, mother nature on the other hand appears to be flourishing. Due to Italy being on lockdown, it means that the canals of Venice, which would have otherwise been populated with locals and tourists on gondolas, are now empty. As a result, the waters are looking clearer (due to the sediment not being stirred up by gondolas), and swans and even dolphins are starting to appear in the city’s waters.

These changes don’t really come as much of a surprise. This is because other parts of the world are also seeing improvements to the environment in general. Take for example over in China, where the virus is said to have originated from, due to the lockdown in Wuhan, satellite images showed how the air pollution levels have dropped drastically during this period of time.

A similar effect is also taking place in Italy where footage from the European Space Agency shows a drop in nitrogen dioxide in the past two months.

Logitech’s New iPad Keyboard Case Comes With A Trackpad

Today, Apple announced new iPad Pros and alongside the new tablets, Apple also took the wraps off a brand new Smart Keyboard accessory with a built-in trackpad. Unfortunately, the new Smart Keyboard accessory does not come cheap and is priced higher compared to its predecessors.

If you’d rather not spend that kind of money, then you might want to check out Logitech’s offerings. The company has also announced a new keyboard case accessory for the iPad that also comes with a built-in trackpad. Dubbed the Combo Touch, it will be priced at $149.99 and unlike the Smart Keyboard which only works with the iPad Pro, Logitech’s Combo Touch will actually work with other iPad models.

This includes the 7th generation iPad, the 3rd generation iPad Air, and the 10.5-inch iPad Pro. Also, unlike the Smart Keyboard, the Combo Touch also comes with a little slot that users can store the Apple Pencil or Logitech Crayton stylus in.

According to Michele Hermann, vice president of mobility at Logitech, “The Combo Touch brings a new way to interact with iPad, giving you an on-screen cursor to edit documents, spreadsheets and presentations and to navigate in comfort with familiar gestures. Our new keyboard brings over 20 years of Logitech typing experience together with a trackpad, and is compatible with the Smart Connector for an all-new iPad experience.”

Google To Temporarily Pause Chrome And Chrome OS Updates

Updates are generally welcome since they usually introduce new features, improvements, and bug fixes. However, there have been times when updates actually cause more problems than they solve, and in more severe instances, have been known to cause software to stop working entirely and even brick devices.

Given that a lot of the world is now working and studying from home to help curb the spread of the coronavirus, it seems that Google will be temporarily hitting the pause button on Chrome and Chrome OS updates. In a post made on Twitter, the company announced that this is being done in a bid to help ensure that current software remains as stable as possible, to prevent any potential disruptions.

This makes a ton of sense since how would people be expected to study or work efficiently if software that they are using suddenly stops working as intended, or like we said, potentially bricks their hardware as well. Granted, there hasn’t been any reported cases of Chrome or Chrome OS updates bricking hardware to date, but in this critical point in time, why chance it, right?

Google does note that they will still be prioritizing software updates that are related to security, so there’s that, just don’t expect to see other types of updates anytime soon.
