iPhone 12 Will Still Launch In 2020, Other Products Could Be Delayed Instead
Posted in: Today's ChiliAccording to a recent report, it has been suggested that due to the coronavirus outbreak, Apple is anticipating a weak demand for its upcoming iPhone 12. As a result, the report claims that Apple is mulling the idea of delaying the launch by a few months, potentially pushing its release to 2021.
Now according to a new report from Bloomberg, they claim that Apple’s iPhone 12 is apparently still on track to be launched in 2020, and that other Apple products planned for 2020 could be the ones that are delayed instead. In addition to the iPhone 12, Apple has been rumored to launch the iPhone SE 2 (also known as the iPhone 9).
This has yet to happen as the phone was rumored to be announced at Apple’s March event (which has seemingly been cancelled). The company has also been rumored to be launching a new high-end iPad Pro with a mini LED display, as well as new MacBook Pro refreshes that will see Apple bring their new scissor switch keyboard to the rest of the MacBook Pro models.
Bloomberg is not alone in reporting that the iPhone 12 is still on track for 2020. Following the previous report, analyst Gene Munster also suggested that the iPhone 12 will still be launching this year, and that potentially weak sales will not deter the Cupertino company from pushing ahead with their plans for the 5G iPhone.

With the rise in popularity of the Zoom video conferencing app, it has been discovered that the app has been secretly sending user data to Facebook without the user’s consent. For those who are uncomfortable with this, the good news is that following Motherboard’s report, the company has since removed the offending code.
In a statement made to the publication, the company was quoted as saying, “Zoom takes its users’ privacy extremely seriously. We originally implemented the ‘Login with Facebook’ feature using the Facebook SDK in order to provide our users with another convenient way to access our platform. However, we were recently made aware that the Facebook SDK was collecting unnecessary device data.”
The company also apologized for the oversight and added, “We will be removing the Facebook SDK and reconfiguring the feature so that users will still be able to login with Facebook via their browser.” Motherboard has since downloaded the updated version of Zoom and has confirmed that the app no longer sends data to Facebook upon opening.
Like we said, Zoom has been experiencing a surge in popularity in the past few weeks. This is due to the fact that many people are being forced to work and study from home due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This has resulted in a spike of use in video conferencing apps such as Zoom, which can support as many as 100 users at the same time, making it ideal for both work and study.

Social distancing is the key to helping countries and its healthcare systems better manage the current coronavirus pandemic. This means that simple activities such as going outside for a jog, a stroll, a bike ride, are no longer encouraged. It also means that players who have been going out to play games like Pokemon GO are now stuck at home.
Niantic had previously rolled out an update for the game that would allow players to continue to enjoy the game from the comfort of their own home, and now it looks like the developer will be working on more ways for Pokemon players to continue to enjoy other features of the game while still maintaining social distancing.
One of those changes includes the ability to take part in raids with friends while at home. According to Niantic, “We’re enhancing our in-game virtual social features to enable players to stay in touch when they can’t meet in real life. You’ll soon be able to team up with friends and take on Raid Battles together in Pokémon GO from the comfort of home.”
They are also making changes towards the step counter, where walking about in your home or running on the treadmill indoors will now count towards game achievements. They are also trying to think of ways to allow players to take part in live events, which are normally held physically, from their homes. If you’re a Pokemon GO player stuck at home, then these are updates worth looking forward to.
