Cloud-based streaming is one of the hottest topics in the gaming market thanks to the launch of Google Stadia. It isn’t the only game in town, of course, but its rivals seem to still be taking some time building up their arsenal and their business. Stadia’s biggest competition may come from Microsoft whose Project xCloud is already in a limited … Continue reading
Before Chris Pine headed to World War I for Diana of Themyscira in Wonder Woman (or donned a particularly choice tracksuit for Wonder Woman 1984), there was one definitive live-action Steve Trevor: Lyle Waggoner, who sadly passed away today at the age of 84.
Now with more people working and studying from home as social distancing measures are being implemented, it means that people need to find new ways to keep themselves entertained. Interestingly and coincidentally enough, it looks like the coronavirus outbreak has brought back to life what has been hailed as the Netflix of piracy – Popcorn Time.
For those unfamiliar, Popcorn Time is an online streaming service in which users can stream movies using torrents as opposed to having to download them. This is obviously and very clearly illegal, and we can’t imagine that its revival is anything but coincidental, especially with some users now potentially being out of work and might not be able to afford the luxury of subscribing to legitimate streaming services.
The service originally launched back in 2014 and given its simplicity, it was quickly targeted by the movie industry for a shutdown. Popcorn Time did come back every now and then, and there were even forked versions made available as alternatives to the service, but for the most part, the original service has remained offline for several years.
However, like we said, in the past few days, the service has come back online. Popcorn Time is also now asking its users to use a VPN while using its service to prevent it from being detected by internet service providers, although we wouldn’t be surprised if it were to get shut down again.

According to a recent rumor, it has been suggested that one of the new features that will be part of the 2020 iPhones is a “world facing” 3D camera. This is essentially a time-of-flight sensor that will help the iPhone better gauge and measure the environment around it, which can help provide more accurate augmented reality usage.
However, it seems that not all of 2020’s iPhones will be benefiting from this rumored feature. According to a report from 9to5Mac, code spotted within iOS 14 has revealed that this new 3D camera might only be available on the iPhone 12 Pro models. This discovery also seems to be in line with what analyst Ming-Chi Kuo had predicted back in 2019, where he said that two of 2020’s iPhones will only come with the feature.
In case you’re unfamiliar, since 2019, Apple has rebranded its iPhone lineup where there is a “base” model with the iPhone 11, followed by the “Pro” versions in the form of the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max. This trend is expected to continue in 2020, with the iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, and the iPhone 12 Pro Max, with the latter two models rumored to be gaining this new hardware feature.
It isn’t surprising given that back in 2018, Apple made a “cheaper” version of the iPhone with the iPhone XR, which was later succeeded by the iPhone 11, and this year we expect that it will be replaced by the iPhone 12.

For those of you who are stuck at home working or studying, you might be pleased to learn that Blizzard has announced the latest expansion for Hearthstone in the form of “Ashes of Outland”. This is the first expansion for Hearthstone for the year of 2020 where it is expected to go live on the 7th of April.
Blizzard’s Hearthstone expansions have been based on the Warcraft universe, and with Ashes of Outland, it will be based on the first World of Warcraft expansion, Burning Crusade. Unsurprisingly given the expansion it is based on, it will also be introducing a new Demon Hunter class to the game.
According to Blizzard, “Ashes of Outland will introduce Hearthstone’s first-ever new class, the Demon Hunter. Empowered by demonic energies, the Demon Hunter wields unbridled fury. This is exemplified by its Hero Power Demon Claws—a one mana-cost boost to Attack that allows Demon Hunters to fluidly weave direct attacks into their combat strategies.”
The expansion will also feature a ton of new cards, a new Legendary minion in the form of Primes, and also a new quest chain that will allow players to earn free packs from the Year of the Dragon expansions. There will also be a new solo adventure that is free to play. Gamers who are interested can go ahead and pre-order the expansion now where it will include 55 Ashes of Outland card packs, the Serpentine card back, and also a random Ashes of Outland Golden Legendary card.

Taking notes on a computer or tablet is a great idea because you can digitize it, it’s neater, and you can make multiple copies easily and share it with others. However, there are some who prefer taking notes by hand, and it has been suggested in previous studies that taking notes by hand is more effective for studying compared to typing it down.
If you do prefer taking your notes by hand but want to digitize it at the same time, then the reMarkable 2 tablet could be worth checking out. While tablets already support stylus for writing and drawing, what makes the reMarkable 2 different is that it offers a paper-like experience so that the process of writing and the way it looks feels more like you’re writing on paper compared to a tablet.
This is thanks to the use of e-ink technology, which not only makes notes look like they’re written on paper, but also offers much better battery life. According to the company, the reMarkable 2 tablet will be able to last for weeks on end, meaning you don’t need to worry about the tablet running out of battery mid-note taking.
The tablet will also have the ability to convert handwritten notes into text, and also let users organize, share, and annotate their notes. The reMarkable 2 tablet is set for a launch this June where it will be priced at $399, along with a $49 Marker stylus or the Marker Plus stylus that comes with a built-in eraser at the top.
