With more people staying home to work and study, internet services have become more essential than ever. The other day, some of Google’s services suffered a brief outage, leading some to question if Google’s servers are equipped to handle the influx of internet traffic now that more people are stuck at home due to the coronavirus outbreak.
Google’s Senior Vice President of Technical Infrastructure, Urs Holzle, has since penned a blog post in which he reassures Google users that the company is more than capable of “handling the load”.
According to Holzle, “Google’s network supports products that people around the world rely on every day, like YouTube, Search, Maps and Gmail. It also connects Google Cloud customers to their employees and users. As the coronavirus pandemic spreads and more people move to working or learning from home, it’s natural to wonder whether the Google network can handle the load. The short answer is yes.”
He goes on to state that Google’s network has been designed to perform even during times of high demand, such as peak periods of traffic like Cyber Monday, the World Cup finals, and so on. Holzle also acknowledges that there is currently a surge in traffic for some of their services like Hangouts Meet, but reassures that these traffic levels are well within Google’s ability.

Back in the day, smartphones were only released in solid color finishes. However, these days we’re starting to see more funky and colorful finishes, and it looks like OnePlus will be adopting such a design.
According to leaked renders shared by WinFuture.de, it appears that the company’s upcoming OnePlus 8 smartphone will come in a couple of different finishes, one of which is a funky-looking “interstellar glow” option. As you can see in the render above, this involves a gradient design which fades from a purple hue to an orange hue, reminiscent of a sunset or the Northern lights, depending on how you look at it.
For those who prefer not to have such a bright and colorful finish, OnePlus is said to still offer the OnePlus 8 in a more standard black finish, and there will also be a solid green option. Like we said, companies these days are starting to come up with more colorful and eye-catching designs.
OnePlus would not be the first to adopt such an option, where we have seen similar offerings from the likes of Huawei and Samsung with their newer models. If the rumors are to be believed, the upcoming OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro are said to be launching later in April, so do check back with us then for more updates.

Earlier this year, Square Enix announced that they will be delaying the launch of Final Fantasy VII Remake to April. While delays for video games are expected from time to time, given that a lot of us are stuck at home due to lockdowns introduced by various governments around the world, we’re sure that many would love to take this opportunity to play some video games.
The good news is that if you’re living in Europe or Australia, Square Enix has announced on Twitter that they will be shipping out Final Fantasy VII Remake earlier to those regions. According to the tweet, it seems that there is a good chance that gamers living in those markets will be able to receive their copy of the game ahead of the 10th of April release date.
The game’s producer Yoshinori Kitase and director Tetsuya Nomura was quoted as saying, “These unique circumstances have made it very difficult to align timing of our global shipping. Our highest priority is that all of you, including those that live in countries currently facing the biggest disruption, can play the game at launch, so we made the decision to ship the game far earlier than usual to Europe and Australia.”

As for those living in other parts of the world, like in North America, Nomura has stated that the game will be shipped out this week, meaning that gamers can still expect their copies in time for launch day. However, he does warn that due to the virus outbreak, it could potentially have an impact on delivery dates and as such, Square Enix is unable to provide specific delivery dates for each country and retailer.
