The problem with a lot of services these days is that they tend to collect data on you. Most of the time, these companies claim that the data has been anonymized, meaning that any information that could trace the data back to you has been stripped, leaving only the contents, which for the most part the companies claim that they use it to improve on their services.
However, it seems that we are now getting a good example of what happens when that data is wrong. According to a report from NBC News, a Florida resident by the name of Zachary McCoy was wrongly suspected of a crime he did not commit, simply because of his Google location data that put him near the scene of the crime.
Police were seeking geofenced data on an area in a bid to get leads on a 2019 burglary. McCoy was wrongly suspected to be tied to the crime as he had used RunKeeper to keep track of his rides, and it so happens that he had cycled past the house three times in the span of an hour.
McCoy has since been cleared of any wrongdoing and suspicion, although like we said, this incident has since raised the issue of geofencing data warrants, which in this led to police wrongly suspecting an innocent person.

The Apple Watch has the ability to detect the wearer’s heart rate, and in the recent years, Apple also introduced an ECG monitoring tool. Now it looks like with the next-gen Apple Watch, presumably the Series 6, Apple could introduce yet another health monitoring tool in the form of a blood oxygen level monitor.
This is according to a report from 9to5Mac in which they discovered that within snippets of iOS 14 code, there are references being made to this new feature. For those wondering what blood oxygen levels are used for, basically if blood oxygen levels dip to a certain point, like 80% and below, it could be a sign of something being wrong.
It could also lead to compromised heart and brain functionality, and having the watch being able to pick up on this could be immensely useful. At this point, it is unclear if newer hardware is necessary to support this feature, meaning that it could be exclusive to the Apple Watch Series 6 and beyond.
In addition to a potentially new feature, 9to5Mac has also spotted signs that Apple could be looking to improve on the ECG feature, where the will upgrade it to help provide more conclusive ECG readings for heart rates between 100 to 120 bpm.

Right now if you want to test if you have the coronavirus that has been spreading like wildfire, you will need to go to a hospital to get checked out. However, the problem that we’re seeing is that sometimes hospitals aren’t keen on testing every patient that walks through the door, simply because there aren’t enough kits.
Also, because some of the symptoms of the coronavirus are pretty generic and similar to the flu, it would be a waste of a kit only to find out that the patient has the flu and not the virus, where the kit could be used on someone with more obvious signs. However, the good news is that home testing kits are coming soon.
Thanks to the Gates Foundation, they have funded a project that will create kits that can be used to test for the virus at home. These kits will return the results in 1-2 days, and if tested positive, will be shared with local health officials who will then notify the person. Patients will also be able to fill up online forms where they can answer questions about their whereabouts and contacts, which in turn will make it easy for health officials to track down others they might have been in contact with.
That being said, it is unclear when exactly it will launch, but when it does, it should help to provide a pretty big boost in helping people at home diagnose themselves without having to go to a hospital.

Recently there was a report that suggested that Apple’s iPhone SE 2 could be delayed. The report claims that Apple is already close to completing production, but have told their PCB suppliers to defer the shipments of the PCB for now, thus leading to speculation that it might only launch in Q2 2020.
Unfortunately, it looks like that delay could also extend to the flagship iPhones that will be launching later this year. This is according to a report from Bloomberg which quotes analysts from the Bank of America, where they claim that they believe that the 5G iPhone could actually be delayed by a month.
That being said, we can’t say that we are too surprised. This is because Apple relies heavily on China for manufacturing, and with many factories being forced to close and with people being quarantined, there is no doubt a huge backlog that is building up. This means that even when the factories reopen, they will need to catch up with previous orders, which in turn could impact the production of the iPhone 12.
That being said, we can’t say for sure if the 5G iPhones will really be delayed, but if you are planning on upgrading, then perhaps it might be a good idea to be prepared to wait.
