When you’re a kid and you suddenly find yourself part of a big movie adventure, chances are good that if you have a sibling around, they’ll come too. That happens in Pixar’s Onward—just the latest in a long line of sci-fi and fantasy movies featuring siblings who become hero teams along the way. Here are eight of our…
Just last week, Facebook started to crack down on ads that were spreading false information about the cure for the coronavirus (there is none, the closest thing we’ve got is a vaccine which has been sent for human trials). Now it looks like Facebook will be taking things one step further by running free ads for the WHO to help counter this misinformation.
This is according to a post on Facebook by the company’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg, where he writes, “Given the developing situation, we’re working with national ministries of health and organizations like the WHO, CDC and UNICEF to help them get out timely, accurate information on the coronavirus. We’re giving the WHO as many free ads as they need for their coronavirus response along with other in-kind support.”
He adds that Facebook is focusing on stopping misinformation that could put the lives of people in danger. “So we’re removing false claims and conspiracy theories that have been flagged by leading global health organizations. We’re also blocking people from running ads that try to exploit the situation — for example, claiming that their product can cure the disease.”
Platforms such as Facebook and Twitter have come under scrutiny over the past few years over the spread of misinformation and fake news, especially given how wide of a reach these platforms have.

For now it seems that Twitter isn’t going to allow users to edit their tweets. This means that everything you tweet will be more or less permanent (even if you delete it, there’s a good chance it’s been archived already). According to Twitter, this has created a problem that prevents some users from sharing their thoughts due to the permanency of it.
This is why the company has announced that they will soon be testing out a new feature that sounds similar to the Stories feature of Instagram and Snapchat. Dubbed “Fleets” (as in “fleeting”), this will allow users to post their thoughts onto Twitter that will disappear after 24 hours.
Users will not be able to retweet Fleets or give it Likes, and the only way that they can interact with Fleets would be to send you a DM. That being said, we should note that Stories on Instagram can be shared, so perhaps in the future, Fleets could also gain a similar feature. Fleets will also not appear on the user’s timeline, and will only be accessible by tapping the user’s avatar.
We’ve been listening to this feedback and working to create new capabilities that address some of the anxieties that hold people back from talking on Twitter. Today, in Brazil only, we’re starting a test (on Android and iOS) for one of those new capabilities. It’s called Fleets. pic.twitter.com/6MLs8irb0c

The feature is currently in testing where it is only available to users in Brazil, but presumably pending successful tests, it should eventually make its way to more users around the world.

Both Apple’s iMac and Mac Mini computers have not been updated for quite a while, with the last iMac refresh taking place about a year ago, and the Mac Mini being more than a year ago. However, there is some good news as it appears that there could be refreshes to either product on the horizon.
This is according to a tweet by use CoinX, who had previously revealed Apple’s plans to call some of their iPhone models “Pro”, so there is a chance that they could be right about this impending refresh as well. There is no word on when the refresh will take place, but Apple has been rumored to be hosting an event on the 31st of March.
This event will see Apple announce new products like the iPhone SE 2 (or iPhone 9), maybe the rumored AirTags tracking accessory, iPad refreshes, and also maybe new MacBook Pro laptops. That being said, with all the tech event cancellations taking place (Google I/O 2020 being the latest casualty), we’re not sure if Apple still plans to go ahead with the event.

However, in the past we have seen the company refresh its products simply by updating their online website without much fanfare, so there is a possibility that this might be the alternative approach. Take it with a grain of salt, but hopefully we’ll have more official details to share soon.
