As some of you might recall, several years ago, Apple got into trouble when it was revealed that the company had been secretly throttling iPhones as they aged. While it was initially viewed as a way to manipulate customers into upgrading, it was later revealed that this was done as a way to prevent iPhones from shutting down at random due to aging battery life.
Regardless, the fact that Apple never disclosed it until it was discovered led many to being upset, and now it looks like Apple could be owing quite a lot of people money. This is according to a recent settlement that the company has agreed to in which they will be paying up to $500 million out to customers who have been affected by this.
Basically, if at any point in time you have own the iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 6s, 6s Plus, 7, 7 Plus, or the iPhone SE, you will be eligible to claim $25 per iPhone from the company. Based on the court documents, it seems that Apple still isn’t acknowledging that they might have been wrong in their actions, but have decided to pay the settlement in order to avoid the costs of litigation, which could potentially have cost the company more.
The exact settlement is unclear as it has yet to be approved, but it could be adjusted based on how many phones in the US are eligible for it, but the minimum sum that Apple has agreed to is $310 million, and going up to $500 million.

When Hideo Kojima left Konami and formed Kojima Productions, many were curious as to what the game designer’s first game would be. It was later revealed to be a game of epic proportions in the form of Death Stranding, which has since been released for consoles. For PC gamers who wanted to check out the game, you’re in luck.
Death Stranding for the PC has been officially announced and it will be releasing via Steam and the Epic Game Store on the 2nd of June, 2020. According to the official announcement, “What’s more, the PC launch will also feature a bunch of exciting content and features, including Photo Mode, ultra-wide monitor support and high frame rate, enhancing the DEATH STRANDING experience for our PC players.”
It adds, “We’re also thrilled to announce that the PC edition of DEATH STRANDING will also feature content from one of Valve’s most iconic franchises, Half-Life.” The game is currently available for pre-order via Steam and the Epic Game Store where if you pre-order it, you will be given some additional in-game goodies in the form of cosmetics.
While many have been eagerly anticipating the game, reviews of Death Stranding have been somewhat mixed, where some have expressed a bit of disappointment in the game, especially from such a famed designer who helped create the Metal Gear Solid series.

These days, working remotely is a pretty common thing that companies are practicing. This is because many are starting to subscribe to the idea that you don’t necessarily need to come into work and be present in order to prove that you are productive or to get things done. However, it seems that Google Ireland is taking things to a whole new level.
According to a tweet by Adrian Weckler, a report for the Irish Independent, it seems that Google Ireland could be sending 8,000 of its employees home where they will be working remotely. No, this isn’t some kind of massive work-from-home experiment that the company is conducting, but rather it is due to health reasons.
This is because an employee at Google Ireland has been reported to have come down with flu-like symptoms, which is one of the signs that they might have been infected by the coronavirus. While it could possibly be just a regular flu, it seems that Google isn’t taking any chances and will be exercising an “abundance in caution” by instructing its staff to work from home for the day.
Google Ireland: “We continue to take precautionary measures to protect the health and safety of our workforce, and as part of that effort we have asked our Dublin teams to work from home tomorrow.”

This is also expected to serve as a test of sorts, where Google wants to see if they are still capable of performing at full capacity should this drag out any further. Like we said, remote working isn’t new and hopefully Google’s employees don’t slack off without direct supervision, or if they are planning to slack, at least don’t get caught.

It can be beneficial to copy/duplicate an entire WordPress page or post (what’s the difference?), including all the Tags, Metadata, and other information that are associated.
It’s not a native WordPress feature, but we’ll show you how to do it in this article and we’ll explain what additional options there are, and how people might be using this functionality.
How to duplicate or clone a Page/Post
- Install the free Duplicate Post plugin
- In Admin>Posts, hover under a title and click the “Clone” quick-edit option
- A new draft Post will be created as a new post, using the default author. That’s it!
By default, the following data is cloned: Title, Excerpt, Content, Featured Image, Template, Format, Menu Order, Categories, and Tags. There are more options we’ll cover later.
Alternatively, you can use the “New Draft” option, right next to the “Clone” option. Essentially, it creates a clone, then opens the editor so you can work on the duplicated post right away.
When editing a Page/Post, the admin bar should show “Copy to a new draft,” which has the same effect as the “New draft” action in the quick edit screen.
Duplicate Post options customization to fit your needs
You can open the Duplicate Post options page by going to Settings>Duplicate Post. By default, you will land on the “What to copy” options tab. There’s a “save” button at the bottom of this form, don’t forget to save any changes.
What to copy
The default options are probably the most common setting people want, but it is possible to personalize the cloning process.
For example, I like the idea of cloning the Date and Author. The screenshot above shows you other options you may want (or not), but generally, the plugin will save you a significant amount of time by doing a reliable job with duplication/copying/cloning – however you want to call it.

Who can copy and What can be copied
Without touching anything, only the Editors and Administrators can make copies of posts. If you want, you can extend this privilege to Authors and Contributors. For a more in-depth look at WordPress user levels and privileges, check the official WordPress user Roles.
Post and Pages are not the only kind of content that can be cloned. For example, Custom Post Types (CPT) can be copied as well if you choose so. A lot of people use various forms of posts to customize their WordPress install, so CPT support is essential.
What’s the point of cloning/copying Posts and Pages?
There are a few reasons for wanting to copy a post down to the smallest details, just to cite a few:
- Testing new layout/content for a future update of the original, without affecting the original one that users may look at. Later, the final new page code can be copy-pasted back into the original.
- Having multiple users work on different sections, including layout, then merge later.
- Use a post as a Template to save time when creating a specific type of content.
It is not a native function of WordPress, but a common question that is asked over and over. The Duplicate Post plugin has over 3 Million installs and seems well maintained, so we can warmly recommend it.
If you need support, you can post a question on the official support page, but we found the plugin to be pretty straightforward to install and use, so chances are that it will just work out of the box.
