Galaxy Fold 2 could be a dream come true if it actually works

The first Galaxy Fold was the thing of tech dreams, promising a phone that doubles as a tablet or vice versa. The harsh reality was that it failed to meet expectations, unsurprising for a first-gen product. That leaves plenty of room for a successor to rise up to the challenge but also plenty of opportunities to raise expectations even higher. … Continue reading

Facebook Gaming Launched As A Standalone App For Smartphones

Facebook is definitely no stranger when it comes to gaming. Several years ago, the company launched the Facebook Gaming platform designed to take on the likes of Twitch and YouTube. However, the downside was that Facebook Gaming was pretty much limited to desktops, meaning that those on mobile would not be able to use it.

The good news for fans of Facebook Gaming or for those seeking an alternative to Twitch, Microsoft’s Mixer, or YouTube Gaming, is that Facebook has since launched the platform as a standalone app for Android devices (iOS version will be launching soon). The app was originally planned for a mid-year launch, but it was reported yesterday by The New York Times that Facebook would be moving up the launch date to today.

The standalone app pretty much does what its desktop counterpart does, except that it will now be mobile-friendly as well. Users will be able to tune into live streams or host their own, and the best part is that given its focus, users will be able to enjoy its content without having to deal with other Facebook-related posts, thus cutting down on the noise.

Users will need a Facebook account to access the platform, but given how many of us already own a Facebook account, we imagine that this is probably not really an issue.

New AirPods Pro Could Be Delayed To 2021

We have been hearing rumors that Apple could be planning a new pair of AirPods Pro called the AirPods X. This is supposed to be a “Lite” version of the AirPods Pro. The earphones were originally rumored to be announced at WWDC 2020, which will be taking place mid-year in a new online-only format, but that may no longer be the case.

According to a report from DigiTimes, they are claiming to have heard from sources that the new AirPods Pro could actually be delayed to the second half of 2020 at the earliest, or potentially pushed to 2021. It is unclear what could be the cause of the delay, but the global health crisis that is the coronavirus outbreak is most likely the culprit, where it has forced many businesses to temporarily suspend operations.

That being said, it was also recently reported that Apple could have a new AirPods that might be launching next week. We had initially thought that this could be the rumored AirPods X/AirPods Pro Lite, but on hindsight it seems like it will most likely be a refresh of the base AirPods model, although we’re not sure what kind of changes we might be able to expect.

In any case, take it with a grain of salt for now, but if you were looking forward to the AirPods X/AirPods Pro Lite, then you might have to wait a little longer than previously expected.

iPad Pro With The Magic Keyboard Might Not Be As Light As You Think

When Apple announced the new Magic Keyboard accessory for the iPad Pro earlier this year, it brought the tablet one step closer to being a potential laptop replacement. This is thanks to the introduction of the trackpad to the Magic Keyboard, giving iPad Pro users better control over their tablet.

However, if you are thinking about getting the iPad Pro and its Magic Keyboard accessory in hopes of replacing your laptop, here’s something to consider. According to a report from a MacRumors reader, it appears that when combining the iPad Pro with its Magic Keyboard accessory, the end result is a tablet and keyboard combo that actually weighs more than the 13-inch MacBook Air.

The reader claims to have weighed the Magic Keyboard and it is said to weigh 710 grams, making it heavier than the 12.9-inch iPad Pro which weighs 641 grams. Combine this and the entire setup weighs a little more than 1.3kg, making it slightly heavier than the 13-inch MacBook Air which weighs 1.29kg. It also makes it barely lighter than the 13-inch MacBook Pro which weighs 1.37kg.

That being said, this is for the 12.9-inch model and it has been reported that the 11-inch model is considerably lighter. Also, the difference in weight is marginal at best, but it’s something to consider if you think that the MacBook Air is too heavy for you, in which you might want to take a look at the 11-inch iPad Pro model instead of its larger 12.9-inch sibling.
