An Apple-Made Gaming Controller Will Launch In 2020 Or 2021

In the past, if you wanted to pair a gaming controller with your iPhone or iPad, you would usually need to look for an accessory labelled as MFi, meaning that it has been certified by Apple as being compatible with their iOS devices. However, with the release of iOS 13, Apple has finally allowed controllers like those made for the PS4 to pair with iOS devices.

That being said, it seems that Apple could be interested in creating their own brand of controllers. This is according to a tweet by L0vetodream in which based on the tweet, an Apple-made gaming controller could launch either later in this year or in 2021.

What’s interesting about this rumor is that it actually makes sense. When Apple launched the 4K Apple TV, one of the changes they made was that they made it more compatible with games, although the Apple TV remote is hardly the most ergonomic gaming controller. Plus, we have also heard rumors that Apple could be working on a gaming Mac.

By creating their own gaming controller, it would allow it to seamlessly work with their products, so like we said, it actually makes sense. Needless to say that this should be taken with a grain of salt for now, but if you do prefer first-party accessories, then this could be an accessory worth looking forward to.

Gmail Has Been Blocking As Many As 18 Million Coronavirus Scam Emails A Day

gmailScam emails aren’t exactly new, and to Google’s credit, its Gmail platform has actually been doing a pretty good job at blocking most of them (if some are still slipping through, you can check out our guide on how to block emails on Gmail). However, with the coronavirus outbreak, it seems that there are more scam emails than ever.

According to Google, it seems that due to the virus outbreak, the company’s Gmail platform has been blocking as many as 18 million coronavirus scam-related emails on a daily basis. The company claims to have intercepted emails related to the virus that contain malware or are phishing emails designed to steal the user’s login credentials.

It also seems that there are as many as 240 million coronavirus-related spam emails that are also being filtered on a daily basis. There is still a lot of confusion and uncertainty regarding the coronavirus, and it’s not surprising that many bad actors are taking advantage of this to sell fake supplements and medications that claim to cure the virus.

Some are also taking advantage by posing as government officials to request for bank details and other forms of personal information that you might not necessarily give out on a regular basis. Note that to date there is no known cure for the virus, so any emails you receive claiming to offer a cure are without a doubt spam/scam. Also, if you want the latest updates on the virus, it’s best to check government websites directly.

These Companies Are Developing A Smartphone-Based COVID-19 Test

One of the problems faced right now in the right against the COVID-19 virus outbreak is the lack of testing kits. This means that people who are sick might not necessarily be tested for the virus as they are typically reserved for those who display more critical signs. This in turn makes it harder to contain the virus as there are people who might be asymptomatic.

However, the good news is that Sanofi and Luminostics have announced that they will be collaborating on developing a test that will leverage smartphone technology. What this means is that if the development of the kit is successful, people will soon be able to test themselves using the kit and their smartphones and get results in about 30 minutes or so.

This reduces the need for people to go to hospitals, which minimizes their contact with the outside world, further preventing infections. According to the press release, this test will take advantage of Luminostics’ technology that will use a smartphone’s camera, an adapter, and glow-in-the-dark nanochemistry and AI to help process this information.

How accurate is this system is unclear, but both companies are working together on developing it. There is no specific release date set for this smartphone-based testing kit, but the companies are aiming to have it ready by the end of 2020.
