Apple’s New iPhone SE Is Already Selling Out Of Its Initial Stock

In the recent years, we’ve seen Apple experience a fair amount of success with its iPhone XR and iPhone 11, both of which are the cheaper versions of Apple’s flagship iPhones. According to the sales figures, both devices have sold extremely well, and in some cases, actually outsold their more expensive siblings.

This is why we can’t say we’re too surprised to learn that the new iPhone SE is doing just as well, or at least that’s what it seems. According to the US Apple Store, it seems that shipping times for the iPhone SE are already slipping. This seems to suggest that a lot of customers are ordering it to the point where the initial stock allotment might have already been depleted.

This isn’t true for all of Apple’s stores around the world, where some places the shipping time is still set for the 24th of April. Also, we can’t say for sure if the slip up in shipping times is due to the phone’s popularity or if it is because Apple has not produced many units for it, so it really could be anything.

However, like we said, Apple seems to be enjoying success with its cheaper iPhones so with the new iPhone SE priced at $399, it certainly does make it quite a steal, especially when it is coupled with hardware used in 2019’s flagship models. Either way, we’ll probably have to wait a while before we can get a clearer picture of how well the phone is doing, but in the meantime, are any of you planning on getting it?

New COVID-19 Experimental Drug Is Showing Promising Signs

The problem with the COVID-19 virus is that there is no known cure. Instead, what doctors can do at the moment is to simply address the problems as they appear, meaning that if the person has a fever, doctors will need to treat the fever. If the patient has a cough, they’ll need to treat the cough.

What’s dangerous is the difficulty in breathing symptoms, in which hospitals might sometimes need to put patients on a ventilator. However, thanks to an experimental drug called remdesivir, it appears to be showing promising signs in dealing with respiratory problems. Patients who took part in the clinical trial of the drug appear to be recovering faster than normal.

Those who took part in the trial had respiratory issues and after being given the experimental drug, were able to leave the hospital less than a week. However, it wasn’t a complete success as two patients part of the trial did die, but it is still promising all the same. The drug was initially developed to fight Ebola but had little success, but it seems that it has found a new life fighting against the COVID-19 virus.

This is not the first time we’re hearing about “old” drugs being repurposed for the coronavirus. Recently, it was found that an arthritis medication was also proving effective, and not too long ago, a drug meant to treat erectile dysfunction also proved promising. Researchers are also looking into a vaccine used to treat tuberculosis as another way to fight the COVID-19 virus.

Note that none of these discoveries are a surefire cure to the disease, but they are at the very least giving doctors alternatives to treat patients who might otherwise not be responding well to current treatments.

Apple Music For The Web Exits Beta

Last year, Apple launched Apple Music for the web. For those unfamiliar, this is basically a web interface for Apple Music where users could play music streamed from Apple Music on the web. This allowed users to stream music from the platform if they don’t have iTunes on the computer or device that they are using.

However, the feature was launched in beta meaning that Apple was still working on ironing out some of the kinks. The good news is that if you liked the web interface for Apple Music, you’ll be pleased to learn that the feature is now out of beta. It doesn’t appear that too much has changed, or if there are changes, they aren’t very obvious.

As to why anyone would choose to use Apple Music for the web, given that Apple currently does not have plans to introduce the revamped iTunes for Windows or other platforms, using Apple Music for the web could actually be a more efficient way of streaming music from the platform instead of having to use the bogged down iTunes app.

In 2019, Apple introduced a revamped version of iTunes for Mac computers. This basically split up the app into multiple apps dedicated to different functions, making it less memory intensive and more efficient. However, like we said, Apple stated back then that these changes would remain exclusive to Mac for now, meaning that non-Mac users won’t be able to take advantage of it until a later date, whenever that may be.

To No One’s Surprise, The 2020 San Diego Comic-Con Has Been Cancelled

Every year for the past several years, the San Diego Comic-Con is an event that many people look forward to. This is because the event usually brings about brand new announcements by movie studios for upcoming movies, new toys, new comics, and basically just a ton of fun and geeky stuff.

Unfortunately if you were hoping to attend the event this year, that will no longer be possible due to the coronavirus outbreak which has forced the 2020 San Diego Comic-Con to be cancelled.

In a statement made by the organizers of the event, “Recognizing that countless attendees save and plan for its conventions each year, and how many exhibitors and stakeholders rely upon its events for a major portion of their livelihood, they had hoped to delay this decision in anticipation that COVID-19 concerns might lessen by summer. Continuous monitoring of health advisories and recent statements by the Governor of California have made it clear that it would not be safe to move forward with plans for this year.”

The San Diego Comic-Con is not the first major event to be cancelled. Earlier this year, MWC 2020 had also been cancelled, and other major events scheduled for this year have also since been cancelled. This includes E3 2020, Google I/O 2020, and it also seems that the 2020 Tokyo Olympics might be postponed.

Some companies, such as Apple, will be pushing ahead with their events like WWDC 2020, except that they will be hosting it in an online format that does not require a crowd to gather a large space.
