GTA 6 Reportedly In Development, But It Will Be A While Before We See It

Following the massive success that was GTA 5, many are no doubt excited to see what the next installment in the GTA franchise could bring to the table. On that front, we have some good news and bad news. The good news is that according to multiple sources from reputable publications, it seems that Rockstar is indeed working on GTA 6.

The bad news is that while the sequel to GTA 5 is being worked on, apparently it is still very early in the developmental stages and that it could be a long time before its release. It’s not surprising that a new GTA game is in the works. After all with the franchise being such a successful one, it would be silly of Rockstar to give it up.

However, according to a report from Kotaku, one of the ways that Rockstar could approach the game is instead of creating the game in its entirety, they might be breaking it up into multiple parts. To avoid crunch issues, Rockstar is said to be planning on releasing GTA 6 as a “moderately sized” game, which will later be expanded by releasing updates.

This is designed to help developers mitigate stress and crunch, which is an issues we’ve been hearing about these days. This is not the first time a game would have been released in such a manner, and in a way it is also good as it allows studios to stretch the game’s lifespan over a period of time. Right now GTA 5 is still widely played thanks to its GTA Online feature, but we imagine that gamers probably would much prefer a new title.

AT&T’s LTE Will Be Used To Power Robots That Can Help Disinfect Surfaces

These days ensuring that surfaces are clean and free from bacteria and viruses is more important than ever, no thanks to the COVID-19 virus that has been spreading like wildfire across the world. However, AT&T thinks that they can help, and thanks to the use of its LTE network, companies like XENEX are using it to power robots that can help disinfect surfaces.

The company’s LightStrike Germ-Zapping Robots use pulsed xenon ultraviolet lights to help deactivate viruses, bacteria, and spores on surfaces. This is crucial in places like hospitals that see a lot of sick people, especially now where hospitals are being flooded with patients infected by the COVID-19 virus.

By using LTE, these robots can then send that information back to XENEX and hospitals to help optimize their performance. According to Paul Froutan, Chief Operating Officer for XENEX, “Our ability to receive the data quickly and know that it is accurate is of utmost importance. It helps us analyze how our customers’ disinfection programs are performing, which can have a dramatic impact on their ability to reduce their infection rates. That data is provided to us through AT&T.”

Chris Penrose, senior vice president of Advanced Solutions at AT&T adds, “AT&T is providing global connectivity for XENEX’s virus-killing robots. Through a single cloud-based platform, we can deliver visibility and agility – allowing XENEX the ability to dynamically adapt to a changing business.”

Interestingly enough, this is not the first time that mobile connectivity has been suggested to be used in such a way. When 5G was in the early stages of rollout, it was also suggested that companies were looking to leverage the technology over the use of WiFi to power things like manufacturing robots due to sometimes WiFi having poor coverage.

Fujifilm Says They Will Be Keeping The X-H Lineup

It has been a while since Fujifilm updated its X-H lineup. The company first introduced the X-H1 a few years ago where it was designed and aimed at videographers (video has not always been a strong forte of Fujifilm’s X-series), but we haven’t really heard anything from the company since.

In fact, last year there were rumors suggesting that Fujifilm might have cancelled the X-H2. For those who are fans of the X-H series with its control layout and larger grip, you’ll be pleased to learn that Fujifilm is not done with the X-H lineup. Speaking to DPreview in an interview, Fujifilm executive Toshihisa Iida revealed that the company is still working on the lineup.

When asked what will become of the X-H lineup now that the newly-announced X-T4 comes with improved video capabilities, Iida responded by saying, “We’ll keep the X-H line, alongside the X-T series. I can’t share our precise plans, but we will continue to develop that line in future, and we will introduce innovations into that series.”

When pressed for more information, Iida declined to provide any, except to say that the concept of future X-H cameras will be very different to the X-T series. That being said, we still have no idea when a new X-H camera will be announced, but if you’re a fan of the series, the takeaway from this is that Fujifilm isn’t done with it yet and that we can expect a new model in the future, whenever that may be.
