Massive Apple Glasses Leak Reveals A Ton Of New information

There have been many rumors surrounding the much-anticipated Apple Glasses.  This is because it represents a brand new product category for Apple, and one that has admittedly not exactly fared too well commercially in the past. Whether or not Apple will be able to pull it off while others have failed remains to be seen, but here’s what we know so far.

In a new video posted onto YouTube, Jon Prosser of FrontPageTech has shared a ton of new information about the rumored Apple Glasses, including its “official” name, pricing, some specs, and launch date.

Starting with the pricing, Prosser claims that the Apple Glasses will be priced starting at $499 with the option to make them a pair of prescription glasses for those who need them. This is much cheaper than we would have thought, given that Apple isn’t exactly synonymous with “cheap”. However, Prosser reveals the reason why it is priced that way.

This is because similar to the first-gen Apple Watch, pretty much all of the processing for the Apple Glasses will be done on the iPhone, which essentially turns the Apple Glasses into a conduit for the iPhone, thus allowing the company to save some money, which in turn lowers the price. Displays will be built into both the lenses of the Apple Glasses, and users will be able to interact with it using gestures.

Prosser revealed that an early prototype featured technology like LiDAR and wireless charging, but whether or not they make it to the final version remains to be seen. He also notes that in terms of availability, Apple is apparently planning for it to be a “one more thing” announcement at its iPhone event as soon as this year, but it could be pushed to early 2021 depending on the coronavirus pandemic, but availability could be much later possibly in Q4 2021 or early 2022.

Needless to say that this should be taken with a grain of salt for now, but if true, it does sound like the Apple Glasses are shaping up to be a pretty interesting piece of tech.

iPhone 12 Could Feature A Redesigned Mainboard

While it is expected that Apple will most likely be making some design changes to the exterior of the iPhone 12 where it will sport a brand new design, it seems that the changes won’t just end there. According to a recent leak on Chinese social media, it turns out that the innards of the iPhone 12 could be undergoing a redesign as well.

According to the leaked photo which was shared by @Mattia_fb on Twitter, it appears that Apple could be changing up the design of the iPhone 12’s mainboard. As you can see in the photo, the new alleged mainboard will sport an L-shape design. This is versus the previous iPhone in which teardowns have found that the mainboard had a rectangular shape.

It should be noted that this is actually not the first time that the iPhone has used an L-shaped mainboard. The last time we saw such a design was in the iPhone 8, after which Apple switched to a double-decker design. It is possible that the iPhone 12 could still sport a double-decker design, but now in an L-shape instead.

We’re not sure what kind of changes Apple has made that prompted them to use an L-shaped mainboard, but as AppleInsider notes, it is entirely possible that this mainboard might not even belong to the iPhone and could be used for something else, so maybe take this with a grain of salt for now.

Razer Opus Headphones Now Available In The US

Earlier this month, Razer announced a new pair of headphones in the form of the Razer Opus. However, the problem was that during the announcement, it was revealed that the headphones would only be available in China. The good news is that that has changed as Razer has since announced the Opus’ available in the US.

The Razer Opus will be priced at $200 and is now available for order via Razer’s website for those who might be interested in grabbing a pair. For those who might have missed out on the previous announcement, the Opus are a pair of gaming headsets. However, unlike Razer’s other gaming headsets, the Opus has a different design.

Instead of bright and garish colors typically associated with gaming products, the Opus is rather understated in terms of design. It features a sleek black exterior where Razer’s branding isn’t too obvious. In fact, we think that it is rather reminiscent of Sony’s headphones, which is a good thing.

The Opus will sport leatherette foam ear cushions and headband that will help make it more comfortable for extended periods of time. The headphones will feature active noise-cancelling technology, it will also be THX certified, and will last for up to 25 hours on a single charge with ANC enabled.
