This AI Generates Random Gibberish Words With ‘Dictionary’ Definitions

AI is great as it can help automate a lot of things because it can learn, meaning that instead of it following a strict and rigid process, it can adapt itself over time. To that end, developer Thomas Dimson has decided to have some fun where he has created a website called “This Word Does Not Exist” where AI is used to randomly generate gibberish words and come up with a fake dictionary definition of them.

The results are pretty hilarious and to a certain extent, they kind of make sense. Then again, none of these words really exist in the first place, so it could really mean anything, but yet the AI is convincing enough where if you were to read it in an actual dictionary (and assuming the word exists), you might nod you head in agreement.

The website even allows users to submit their own words where it can then generate dictionary definitions. The platform is powered by GPT-2, a neural net designed by OpenAI to help create predictive text. There was some controversy surrounding this particular system as its creators had warned that it could be abused to write fake news.

Given what we’ve seen so far, it does seem like it does have the potential as the definitions are pretty convincing, but for now, it just seems like a fun and novel way to make use of AI.

The Elder Scrolls: Blades Is Now Available On The Switch

According to Bethesda, it could be years before we hear about more details about The Elder Scrolls VI. For those who’d rather not replay Skyrim or have no interest in subscribing to The Elder Scrolls Online, The Elder Scrolls: Blades could be a good alternative, and the good news is that the game is now available on the Nintendo Switch.

Bethesda had announced last year that they would be launching the game for the Switch. The game was originally intended to launch on Nintendo’s console in 2019, but in November last year, the company announced that they would be delaying the release to 2020. There was no specific date planned, so this announcement does come as a bit of a surprise, although it is a good one.

For those unfamiliar, Blades was originally announced as a mobile version of The Elder Scrolls and was released on both iOS and Android devices. It is a first-person RPG where players will fight monsters head on in one-on-one battles. The game, just like its mobile counterpart, will be free-to-play with in-game purchases.

The version released for the Switch will also be available as a bundle where for $14.99, players will be given 30,000 gold, 2,000 gems, building materials, exclusive Sylvan decorations, and also some rare pieces of gear that they can equip.

Apple’s AR Glasses Will Launch In 2022 At The Earliest

Apple’s interest in augmented reality technology is pretty well-known, but the company is expected to take things one step further by releasing a brand new product based on the technology. This is expected to come in the form of a pair of smart glasses that would be akin to what Google had attempted in the past.

However, it seems that we could be waiting quite a while before we see it. This is according to a report from analyst Ming-Chi Kuo who claims that 2022 will probably be the earliest that Apple could debut this rumored device, meaning that we’ll have to wait at least two years before we see anything more concrete.

It should be noted that Apple’s AR headset’s release date has been allegedly changed many times. In 2018, we heard that the device could launch this year. Other rumors even suggested next year, although a DigiTimes report from March this year claimed that it will most likely be in 2022.

We’re not sure if those dates will change again, but don’t be surprise if they do. Given that the Google Glass was not exactly launched to great success, we imagine that Apple is trying to ensure that if and when they do release such a device, it will not meet the same fate. Either way, take this with a grain of salt for now.

Apple Could Release One Completely Portless iPhone In 2021

There have been some rumors floating about that suggests that Apple might be planning to ditch the ports on the iPhone and eventually release a portless iPhone. For those wondering when that will happen, it seems that a more recent rumor has indicated that this device could arrive in 2021.

This is according to a tweet by @9TechEleven who claims that Apple could make the shift in the coming years, and this was confirmed by FrontPageTech’s Jon Prosser who said that at least one iPhone model in 2021 will launch completely without ports. It seems that Apple will be slowly making the transition where eventually, all iPhones will be ditching the Lightning port in favor of going completely wireless.

This is an interesting idea because many had assumed that Apple would eventually transition the iPhone to USB-C, similar to the iPad Pro. However, these rumors, if true, suggests that Apple will skip USB-C and just go straight to wireless. Apple’s iPhones currently support wireless charging, but for the company to rely solely on wireless charging does seem like a bit of a gamble.

We’re not sure if Apple has some kind of fancy hi-tech wireless charging system in mind, but hopefully we’ll have more details soon. Until then, do take this with a grain of salt.
