Trump Admin Tells States To Yank Benefits From Those Who Won’t Return To Work
Posted in: Today's ChiliNew Labor Department guidance encourages states to get employers to report on people refusing job offers.
No matter which side of the aisle you’re on, you might agree many countries haven’t had the best response to the global pandemic. America is chief among them.
The concept of working from home has been slowly gaining traction in the past few years as companies start to realize that maybe being in an office physically is no longer necessary. Now with the coronavirus pandemic and with the majority of people being forced to work remotely, some are arriving at that conclusion faster than before.
In fact, Twitter seems to relish the idea and according to an email sent out to Twitter employees by the company’s CEO, Jack Dorsey, it looks like the company has told its employees that they’ll now be able to choose to work from home remotely indefinitely. Save for certain job roles that will require a physical presence, Twitter has told its employees that some of them may never need to come into the office as long as they are still able to do their jobs.
Twitter has since confirmed the authenticity of the email to BuzzFeed News where a spokesperson was quoted as saying, “We’ve been very thoughtful in how we’ve approached this from the time we were one of the first companies to move to a work-from-home model. We’ll continue to be, and we’ll continue to put the safety of our people and communities first.”
The email from Dorsey also revealed that there is a good chance that Twitter may not open its offices before September, and that business travel will be cancelled until then. We’re not sure if other companies will be adopting a similar approach, but until there is a vaccine or treatment for the coronavirus, perhaps this will be the new normal for the foreseeable future.

There’s no denying the power of Apple’s new Mac Pro, but there’s also no denying how much it costs, and there’s even no way of denying that some of the accessories that Apple is selling for the computer are just ridiculously priced. Take for example the wheels for the Mac Pro that allows it to be easily moved around.
They are priced at a staggering $700 for a set of four wheels, which we imagine is pretty hard to justify, but it seems that YouTuber Braille Skateboarding has decided to purchase them. Except that instead of using it with the Mac Pro, he decided that keeping true to his YouTube channel’s name, he will put them on a skateboard instead to see how well they hold up.
It should be noted that a pair of skateboard wheels don’t cost that much to begin with. A quick search on Amazon has revealed that you could get a set of four for as low as $20, while more professional brands and models might go up to $50, but none of them come close to $700. The video shows how they tested the wheels as they were, before making some modifications and attaching them to a skateboard truck.
Surprisingly, it sort of “worked”. While maybe not ideal, the video shows that they managed to get it to work, although at $700, it does feel a bit painful to watch, but they are admittedly some of the sleekest-looking skateboard wheels we’ve ever seen.

Some of you might recall that a couple of years ago, Xiaomi spin-off brand Pocophone launched the Pocophone F1. This was largely considered by many to be something of a sleeper hit, where for its price, it came with some pretty impressive flagship hardware that almost put it on par with some of the more expensive phones out there.
Many thought that the company would be more than eager to release a successor, but that did not happen in 2019. However, the good news for those who have been looking forward to the successor, the company has since announced the POCO F2 Pro, a flagship phone with flagship specs and a very impressive price tag to boost.
As expected from a flagship, the POCO F2 Pro will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865 chipset and will sport a 6.67-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display. There is also a built-in fingerprint sensor in the display of the phone itself, a popup front-facing camera, a quad camera setup on the back, support for 5G, and will also come with 6-8GB of RAM.
While it might not necessarily be as feature-rich compared to other flagships we’ve seen this year, the POCO PF2 Pro is priced at around $540 for the base model, and $650 for the 8GB model. So if you’re looking for a flagship phone on the cheap, then the POCO F2 Pro might be the device to check out.

If you own an older MacBook Air or MacBook Pro, then you might want to check out Apple’s latest list of models that have been either classified as Vintage or Obsolete. This includes models that were manufactured from mid-2013 up to mid-2014, so if you have any of these laptops, it might be worth taking note of.
According to the list, this includes the mid-2013 11-inch and 13-inch MacBook Air, the early 2014 11-inch and 13-inch MacBook Pro, and the mid-2014 Retina MacBook Pro. For those wondering about these designations, products listed as Vintage means that they have been around for at least five years.
This means that they can still be repaired, although parts will be subject to availability. In some cases, some of these Vintage-listed models are still eligible for OS upgrades, but you will need to refer to Apple’s compatibility list. As for products that are deemed obsolete, this means that they are older and are no longer eligible for repair, at least not officially.
There is a chance that you could still get them repaired by a third-party repair shop, but given how old they are, there is a possibility that maybe these repair shops might not have the necessary parts either.
