iPhone 12 With 120Hz ProMotion Display ‘Confirmed’ In New report

When the iPad Pro with a 120Hz refresh rate display was first announced, many were excited because since iPhones and iPads tend to share tech, it seemed to indicate that a 120Hz display could eventually find its way to the iPhone. However, over the years, that has yet to happen, but that could change this year.

According to a report from Max Weinbach, he posted a video to his EverythingApplePro YouTube channel where he claims that this year’s iPhone 12 could indeed feature a 120Hz ProMotion display. Weinbach isn’t the first to suggest such a feature, as just last month, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman (who is just as connected and also pretty accurate with his reporting) made a similar assessment, where he believed that a 120Hz ProMotion display could come to this year’s iPhone.

That being said, Weinbach goes on to claim that the refresh rate for the display will not be static, meaning that it will dynamically switch between both 60Hz and 120Hz depending on the situation as a way to help better preserve battery life. It has also been rumored that the newer iPhones will come with a larger battery to help with this, where the top-of-the-line model could pack a 4,400mAh battery.

This would represent a substantial increase over the previous iPhone which sports a 3,969mAh battery. Needless to say that this should be taken with a grain of salt, but if true it would be a pretty awesome upgrade.

Microsoft Adds Protection Against Reply-All Email Storms For Exchange Users

Some of you might recall that last week, Microsoft rolled out a feature for iOS users that helped them ignore email conversations. This meant that if an email thread gets too chatty and everyone is hitting that “reply all” button in group emails, they have the option to just ignore it to stop getting unnecessary notifications.

Now it looks like Microsoft is rolling out a similar, but perhaps more enhanced version of that to its Office 365 Exchange users. Dubbed the “Reply All Storm Protection”, basically this will see Microsoft introduce a new protection feature that can automatically detect what the company calls “reply all storms”, where users, especially on large distribution lists or in large companies, might be using the reply all feature at the same time.

According to Microsoft, “When a reply all mail storm happens in your organization, it can disrupt business continuity and in some cases even throttle the rest of your organization’s email for a period of time.” They add, “When the feature detects a likely reply all storm taking place on a large DL it will block subsequent attempts to reply all to the thread and will return an NDR to the sender. The reply all block will remain in place for several hours.”

Right now, Microsoft has set the threshold to 10 reply-alls to over 5,000 recipients within 60 minutes, but the company says that over time as they gather more feedback from users, this could be further tweaked and optimized.

It Looks Like A Diablo 2 Remaster Could Still Be Happening

Back in 2017, we heard rumors that a Diablo 2 and Warcraft 3 remaster could be in the works. Half of the rumor was true as Warcraft 3: Reforged was eventually released, and now it seems that a Diablo 2 remaster could very well be on its way. Interestingly enough, this remaster will not be developed by Blizzard, but by Vicarious Visions, a subsidiary of Activision.

This is according to a report from French website Actu who had previously accurately predicted Diablo 4, World of Warcraft: Shadowlands, and Overwatch 2, so it stands to reason that they could be right again this time. However, what makes this interesting is that it seems to sort of contradict an earlier report.

While we’re sure that some would love to see a Diablo 2 remaster, in 2019 it was reported that it seemed unlikely. This is because according to Diablo’s creators, they claimed that due to neglecting to backup the game’s source codes and assets, they lost a good chunk of the game which meant that remastering the game would prove difficult.

They then suggested that if Blizzard were to attempt a remaster, it would be impossible as they would essentially need to start from scratch. Perhaps Blizzard did find a backup hidden away somewhere, or maybe they’re really building the game up from scratch, but either way take it with a grain of salt and hopefully we’ll have more details soon.
