It Looks Like Samsung Wants To Make Its Own Debit Card As Well

Tech companies looking to launch their own payments services isn’t anything new. We’ve seen attempts from the likes of Apple, Google, and Samsung, just to name a few, but these days, we’re starting to see companies shift from offering digital payments services to creating actual physical payment cards.

Apple launched the Apple Card which was followed by Huawei, and just last month, there were reports that Google was planning its own card as well. Now it looks like Samsung wants in on the action too because the company has recently announced their plans to launch its own debit card in the near future.

According to Samsung, “In 2020, Samsung Pay will be expanding our service from being a rewarding way to shop and pay, to also being a rewarding way to manage money. Over the past year we have been busy developing a mobile-first money management platform. Our vision is to help consumers better manage their money so that they can achieve their dreams and goals. Now more than ever, mobile financial services and money management tools will play an even bigger role in our daily lives while also opening up new possibilities.”

Details about the card are scarce at this point in time, but Samsung did confirm that they will be partnering with SoFi on it, and that details are expected to be shared in the coming weeks.

Sony Announces WF-SP800N True Wireless Earbuds

There are many wireless earbuds in the market today, and it seems that Sony is pushing out products rather aggressively. The company already has a couple of wireless earbuds in the market, such as the high-end WF-1000XM3 and the lower-end WF-XB700, but if you wanted something somewhere in the middle, Sony has you covered.

The company has recently announced their latest pair of wireless earbuds in the form of the WF-SP800N. Based on its price, it sits somewhere in the middle of the company’s other two offerings at $200, although it also seems to have gained an additional feature that will make it more appealing to active users.

The company is boasting that these earbuds offer an IP55 rating which means that it is sweat resistant, making them a perfect pair of earbuds to use in the gym. They will also come with noise cancellation so if you want to tune out the sounds at the gym and just focus on your workout, this feature will most certainly come in handy.

The earbuds also promise a pretty long battery life of up to 9 hours on a single charge. As expected, there will be an accompanying charging case that adds another 9 hours, meaning you’ll be able to squeeze a total of 18 hours before needing to charge everything again. If these are earbuds you’re interested in, you can pre-order it on Amazon where it is expected to be released at the end of the month.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Will Be Shorter And Smaller Than Odyssey

Gamers like getting value for money out of their games. This can come in the form of the time it takes to complete a game, how replayable it is, and so on. However, just because a game takes 100 hours to complete doesn’t make it better. There are plenty of simple and short games out there that are much more compelling.

This was one of the criticisms for Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, which was a pretty epic endeavor for Ubisoft, but some gamers felt that the extra content did not feel meaningful and was a bit draggy. The good news is that Ubisoft has heard those complaints and with the upcoming Valhalla title, Ubisoft will be making the game shorter and smaller.

This is according to a tweet by Ubisoft Middle East’s head of communications Malek Teffaha who posted on Twitter that Valhalla addresses some of the concerns of Odyssey, such as its overall length. That being said, we’re not sure how much smaller or shorter Valhalla will be, but as IGN notes, Ubisoft did previously state that the game is expected to cover quite a large region, so there is still a bit of an epic feel to it (hopefully).

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla was announced last week with a pretty impressive cinematic trailer. The game does not have a specific release date yet, but Ubisoft is aiming to make it available in the holiday 2020 season.
