Stop motion animation can be intensively labor exhaustive if you’re trying to create something good. Obviously, having an awesome camera helps, like Canon’s EOS R series. If you do have an EOS R and would like to dabble in stop motion animation, then there is a $100 firmware update you could be interested in.
The company has announced that with this new firmware update, it will help with stop motion animation. This is because the update will boost your camera’s live view resolution to 1920×1280 in Dragonframe versus 960×640 from before. It also allows users to use features like Manual Focus Peaking while tethered to a USB connection.
This update is completely optional and like we said, seems to be aimed mostly at professionals who want to get more out of their cameras when making stop motion animations, so if you don’t want to do it, you won’t have to. This firmware update can be installed when you buy a new EOS R camera, or you can send your existing camera to Canon who will install it for you.
The company does note that there will be some limitations with this update, where HDMI output will no longer be available once the firmware is installed, so it seems like you’ll need to think this through if you want to go through with it.

These days thanks to mirrorless cameras bridging the size of a compact camera and a DSLR, there is less need than before for compacts. However, there are still several compacts that are very popular, like Sony’s RX series which are commonly used by vloggers and YouTubers as an alternative to bulkier DSLRs or more expensive mirrorless cameras.
If you are interested in getting your hands on a new Sony compact, you could be in luck because according to a report from Sony Alpha Rumors, they claim to have heard from sources that there could be a new Sony compact camera that might be announced towards the end of the month.
Now, before you get too excited at the prospect of a new RX camera, the publication claims that they received a tip that this might not necessarily be a new RX camera. It could instead be something else, something potentially better. Maybe Sony could be looking to rebrand its RX series? Who knows.
Either way, take it with a grain of salt, but Sony’s compacts have been very well-received and if you don’t relish the idea of investing a lot of money into lenses, then this might be worth checking out when it is announced.

When sending emails to multiple users at once, it is more common than not that you’ll end up getting pinged by the same email the entire day as users hit “reply all”. This can be distracting and sometimes can derail your productivity, but the good news for iOS users is that you will now be able to ignore all that chatter.
In an update to the Outlook app for the iPhone and iPad, Microsoft is finally bringing the ability for users to “Ignore Conversation”. For those unfamiliar, a “conversation” is what Microsoft uses to refer to a chain of emails from the first conversation all the way to the last reply which contain the same email subject.
According to Microsoft, “Sick of that company-wide email that everyone is still replying all to? So are we. Stay focused on what’s important by getting it and all future replies out of your inbox and straight into deleted items with our new Ignore Conversation feature.” As it has been pointed out, ignoring these conversations is a feature that has actually been available on other platforms that Outlook has existed on, but it looks like it is finally available on iOS devices.
The update should already be live, so if you haven’t updated your Outlook app for your iPhone or iPad yet, then you should probably do so. The latest version of Outlook can be found on the App Store. You can also check out our guide on how to manually update iOS apps.
