How to Watch Apple’s WWDC 2020

It might seem a little strange not having a physical Apple Worldwide Developers Conference this year, but considering the state of the world there’s nothing wrong with participating from the safety of your own home. You don’t have to change out of your pajamas, sweatpants, bathrobe, or whatever sleep-time attire you…

Safari In iOS 14 Could Come With Voice Search, Built-In Translation

Safari is the default browser bundled with iOS. While it works great and can sync across devices like the iPhone and iPad and Mac computers, it does not necessarily mean that it is good. In fact, there are several features from other browsers such as Chrome that we would love to see in Safari.

The good news is that come WWDC 2020 where Apple will most likely announce iOS 14, it seems that there are a bunch of new features coming to Safari that might be of interest to some of you. According to a tweet by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, it seems that we can look forward to features like built-in translation as well as voice search, both of which are features available in Chrome.

While using your voice to audibly transcribe your search query has always been available, it’s just not quite the same, so this is something that could be interesting. However, given that Siri is exactly winning the digital assistant of the year award, we wonder how it might hold up against Chrome.

Gurman also notes that while these might be features coming to Safari, he also cautions that there is a chance Apple might not announce them. This doesn’t mean that they won’t make the cut, but rather Apple might choose to focus on other features instead. Either way, WWDC 2020 kicks off in the next few hours, so check back with us then for more updates.

AirPods 3 Expected In First Half Of 2021 With AirPods Pro Design

Many have been wondering when Apple might refresh its AirPods earphones. According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, his latest report claims that the third-gen AirPods will only be launching in the first half of 2021. This is pretty much in line with Kuo’s earlier report that claimed that the AirPods 3 will only come in 2021.

However, what’s interesting about Kuo’s latest report is that he claims that Apple will apparently be adopting a new design for the AirPods 3. Kuo claims that the third-gen AirPod will sport a similar design to the AirPods Pro, and assuming it is true, then this is without doubt great news for fans of the AirPods.

While the AirPods have been pretty popular, one of the main criticisms about the earphones is that they don’t exactly have a very tight fit. Some users have no issues with them, while others do. However, the AirPods Pro sports an in-ear design that will fit more snug, and with the AirPods 3 reportedly featuring a similar design, it could solve some of the problems some users might have had.

As for features, Kuo does not mention what kind of changes we can expect, but we wouldn’t be surprised if there were no major changes apart from the design. After all, by keeping it as a basic pair of wireless headphones, it would encourage customers to purchase the AirPods Pro if they wanted better sound quality as well as noise cancellation.

Nintendo Could Be Looking To Scale Back On Their Mobile Development Efforts

For the longest time ever, Nintendo had refused to get on board with mobile gaming. The company later had a change of heart where they eventually started to release mobile games, some with great success. However, the company could be changing their minds yet again, at least according to a report from Bloomberg.

According to the report, it alleges that Nintendo is apparently looking to scale back on their mobile development efforts. While the company isn’t quitting mobile completely, it seems that the company’s success with Animal Crossing: New Horizons on the Nintendo Switch has reaffirmed what they had previously thought, which was that console gaming is where it’s at.

This alleged decision shouldn’t come as a surprise. Back in May, Nintendo’s president Shuntaro Furukawa had already hinted of the company’s mobile plans, where he was quoted as saying, “We are not necessarily looking to continue releasing many new applications for the mobile market.”

To be fair, Nintendo’s mobile games have been hits and misses. Strong franchises that involved Mario did not do as well as the company would have liked, while other games like Fire Emblem Heroes seemed to fare better, so like we said, it has been a mixed bag of success. Nintendo isn’t pulling out completely, but if you were hoping to see more games arrive for your smartphone, you might be a bit disappointed moving forwards.

Apple Watch water ejection in slo-mo reveals genius design

Because of their proximity to our bodies and their constant exposure to the outside world, smartwatches tend to risk getting wet, by accident or on purpose more than our smartphones. They are, thus, designed to be more rugged but, just like smartphones, they also do need some openings, for speakers, for example, without room for more conventional water-proofing methods. Apple’s … Continue reading
