Sony had previously confirmed that they are working on the PS5 and revealed the console’s new DualSense controller, but stopped short of revealing the design of the console itself or providing more details. However, for those who have been eagerly anticipating the console, here it is.
During Sony’s PlayStation event, the company officially unveiled the PS5 console which will be launching in two editions – the regular PS5 and the PS5 Digital Edition. Both consoles will be more or less identical in terms of performance, with the main difference being that the Digital Edition will not come with a disc drive, meaning that it will be purely for digital downloads.
According to Sony, “The PS5 gameplay experience will be the same, so the choice is all yours. While there are some slight differences in the look of each model, for the overall design, we wanted to deliver a console that’s bold, stunning, and unlike any previous generation of PlayStation.”
The design for the PS5 certainly looks very sleek and futuristic, almost like a modern desktop PC. In addition to revealing the design of the console, Sony also revealed additional accessories which includes a Pulse 3D wireless gaming headset, a HD camera, a media remote, and also a charging station that lets you charge up the DualSense controllers. Sony has yet to confirm the pricing of the console, but the company had previously hinted that it could be more expensive than the PS4.

Following the release of Resident Evil 7 several years ago, fans of the franchise are undoubtedly wondering about its sequel, Resident Evil 8. Earlier this year, we heard the rumors that the game could be launching in 2021, and the good news is that it looks like those rumors are true.
During Sony’s PS5 event, Capcom has officially taken the wraps off Resident Evil 8, also known as Resident Evil Village. According to the game’s description, “Taking place a few years after the events of Resident Evil 7 biohazard, in which protagonist Ethan Winters traveled to Louisiana to search for his missing wife, Mia, Resident Evil Village sees the reunited Mia and Ethan living happily together and putting their shared nightmares of the Baker’s plantation house behind them.”
As per the rumors, Resident Evil 8 will be continuing the first-person perspective when it comes to combat. According to Capcom, the game is also expected to have a greater focus on combat and exploration compared to its predecessor, and will be released some time in 2021. For non-PS5 gamers, don’t worry because Capcom is also expected to release the game for Windows PC via Steam and Microsoft’s upcoming Xbox Series X consoles.
We had previously heard that Capcom had actually started development of the game back in 2016. However, the report claimed that Capcom decided to scrap their plans for the game and put it on the backburner, only to be revived in 2019.

Now that Sony has announced and officially unveiled their PS5 console, some of you might be wondering about the games that will be available on the console. If you were hoping to see Rockstar’s GTA 6 arrive for the PS5, you might be disappointed, but the good news is that it looks like GTA 5 will be coming to the console in 2021.
Yes, we know that GTA 5 is an old game, but even by today’s standards, it is still very much a beautiful-looking game and it plays great. The version launching for the PS5 won’t just be a port of the current GTA 5, but it will come with several technical improvements and visual upgrades that should take advantage of the console’s hardware, as well as new features and content that will hopefully breathe new life into the game.
To encourage gamers to keep playing the game, PlayStation Plus members on the PS4 will be getting GTA$100,000 deposited into their Maze Bank account for every month that they play GTA Online leading up to the launch of GTA Online for the PS5. With GTA 5 set for a release in the second half of 2021, this means that you should be able to accumulate at least 12 months worth of GTA dollars from now until then just by playing the game.
If you’re curious about how GTA 5 could look like on the PS5, then check out the announcement trailer in the video above.
