8.5-inch iPad Mini Expected To Arrive In 2021

Back in the day, “mini” sized tablets were all the rage, but in case you feel that maybe the iPad mini is starting to feel a tad bit too small for your liking, you could be in luck because according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, he claims that come 2021, Apple is expected to launch a larger version of the iPad mini.

This larger version is rumored to come with an 8.5-inch display, which for context is 0.6-inches larger than the current iPad mini which features a 7.9-inch display. We’re not sure if Apple will be adopting a new design for the iPad mini that would put it more in line with the likes of the iPad Pro.

This would allow Apple to maintain the current dimensions of the iPad mini but introduce a larger display, similar to what Apple has done with the 16-inch MacBook Pro. Kuo also goes on to claim that Apple is also expected to bundle a 20W power adapter with the iPad minis. We caught a glimpse of the rumored 20W power adapter last week where it was assumed that it would be bundled with the iPhone 12s (that might no longer be happening).

In any case, this new iPad mini is only expected in 2021 so we still have quite a bit of waiting left to do before we will know the official details, so it’s probably best to take it with a grain of salt for now.

New Report ‘Confirms’ iPhone 12 Won’t Ship With EarPods Or A Charger

According to recent rumors, it has been suggested that the iPhone 12 might not ship with EarPods. This was semi-acceptable as the EarPods aren’t exactly the best of earphones, so we’re not sure how many people would actually miss them. However, it was later reported that the iPhone 12 might not ship with a charger, which sounded a bit sketchy.

Now according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who we should point out has a pretty excellent track record for Apple-related insider information, he has “confirmed” that both these previous rumors are true, where the iPhone 12 will not be shipping with EarPods and a charger. It will still come with a cable so all customers need to do is either use an existing charger.

The reason behind Apple leaving out the EarPods and charger is because due to the increased price in components for 5G, Apple is looking to cut some costs. Unfortunately, while the price of the iPhone 12 could be maintained due to the exclusion of these accessories, customers could still end up paying more.

This is because Apple will be bundling a USB-C to Lightning cable, meaning that customers who are still using USB-A power adapters that were bundled with previous iPhones, they would need to buy a new power adapter. There were rumors that Apple could be preparing a 20W power adapter, but that is now expected to be sold separately.

YouTube’s 24-Hour Views Record Broken By Blackpink’s ‘How You Like That’

Several years ago, Psy’s “Gangnam Style” K-pop song broke several YouTube records when it was released. Fast forward to today, it seems that many new K-pop releases have also been beating various YouTube records, like when K-pop group BTS managed to reach 74.6 million views within the first 24-hours of releasing “Boy With Luv”.

However, it seems that BTS’ record has since been broken by none other than Blackpink, another K-pop group which managed to achieve 82.4 million views in the first 24-hours of the release of their latest single, “How You Like That”. What’s interesting is that prior to BTS wearing the crown, Blackpink actually held the title with their “Kill This Love” which amassed 56.7 million views in the first 24-hours.

Blackpink is one of the hottest K-pop groups around and many of their fans have been eagerly anticipating the release of their latest single. As expected, with a group this big, they have their fair share of detractors as well where the video actually has 531,000 dislikes, which is overshadowed by the 10 million or so likes.

At this time of writing, the group’s latest single has over 130 million views and we expect that it will only continue to climb. As it stands, Blackpink’s “DDU-DU DDU-DU” song has the most views amongst their other releases, clocking in at 1.2 billion.
