The iPhone SE Is Attracting More Android Users Than Before

Every year, it’s probably safe to assume that there are a number of iPhone users who decide that they want to make the switch to Android, and vice versa. There are many reasons for this, but for the iPhone SE, it seems that cost could be one of the main draws because according to Counterpoint Research, it has pulled in more Android users than before.

According to their data, the 2020 iPhone SE managed to attract 26% of Android users over to it. This seems to be higher than normal for Android users who are making the jump to Apple’s iPhones. According to Jeff Fieldhack, Counterpoint’s Research Director for North America, “Over 26% of iPhone SE users moved over from an Android device, which is higher than normal Android to iOS switching.”

The iPhone SE was launched back in April with a price tag of $399, making it one of the cheapest iPhones in recent years. Despite its affordable price tag, Fieldhack doesn’t seem to think that it might end up cannibalizing the iPhone 12 which is expected to launch later this year. This is because based on the users who are making the switch aren’t that concerned about having a smaller display or the lack of 5G.

It also seems that apart from Android switchers, a good portion of iPhone SE customers are those who are switching from devices four years or older, like the iPhone 6S.

The Nikon Z5 Mirrorless Camera is Here And Will Cost $1,400

When Nikon first got into the mirrorless camera game, their efforts weren’t exactly well-received. The company later turned things around when they launched their new lineup of Z-series mirrorless cameras, and now it looks like they’re back with a new model in the form of the Nikon Z5.

This is the company’s “entry-level” mirrorless camera for its Z-series lineup and is priced starting at $1,400 for the body-only. However, despite it being an entry-level camera, it packs some decent hardware and could be a good gateway for photographers who are looking for a relatively inexpensive way into the full-frame camera segment.

The Z5 will feature a 24MP CMOS sensor which is different from the BSI sensor used by the Nikon Z6 and Z7, however, it does use the same Expeed 6 image processor, so there are some similarities as far as image processing is concerned. It will be capable of shooting at 4.5 fps with support for full autofocus and AE, 4K video at 30 fps, and 1080p at 60 fps.

It will also come with a five-axis in-body image stabilization which will come in handy for those who don’t want to buy specific lenses with IBIS built into it. The body of the Z5 has also been sealed against dust and moisture. If you’re interested in getting your hands on the camera, it will be released this coming August.

The Price Of OnePlus’ Wireless Buds Could Put The AirPods To Shame

The market is starting to become flooded with true wireless earbuds. While many made fun of Apple when they launched the AirPods, it quickly became clear that this was a new market segment to consider. OnePlus is set to launch their own pair of wireless earbuds and they are teasing its price that could put the AirPods to shame.

According to a post on the OnePlus Instagram account, they are teasing the launch of their upcoming earbuds that will be priced at $XX.XX. While the actual price has yet to be revealed, we can only assume that it will be priced below $100. Of course, there is a chance it will cost $99.99, but still, at $100 it is a pretty good bargain compared to some of the competition out there.

That being said, we suppose it’s not really a fair comparison to compare the OnePlus earbuds to the AirPods. Apple has designed their ecosystem in such a way that makes pairing their products together effortless, which is one of the main draws of buying the AirPods, despite its subpar sound and price tag.

However, for $100, we imagine that some people might be willing to forsake some of those features for a pair of wireless earbuds for the sake of convenience. More details should be announced tomorrow at the OnePlus Nord event, so check back with us then for the updates.
