With Apple confirming that they will be transitioning to the use of their own custom Apple silicon chipsets for future Mac computers, there is the question of when we will be able to expect them. Last we heard, Apple could be planning on launching new MacBook Air laptops by the end of the year featuring the new hardware.
It looks like those rumors could be true because it seems that a battery that could be used in the Apple silicon MacBook Air has been spotted in two online certification databases. While the batteries don’t specifically indicate that they are for the MacBook Air, they are rated for 4.99Wh and have a 4,380mAh capacity.
These are the same ratings that Apple is using in the current MacBook Air, which has led to speculation that this battery could be for a new MacBook Air model. Given that Apple had already refreshed the MacBook Air earlier this year, combine that with the rumors, it would make sense to believe that this could be the rumored Apple silicon powered MacBook Air we’ve been hearing about.
It will be interesting to see that despite using the same battery rating as the Intel powered MacBook Air if the newer model powered by the Apple silicon chipset could prove to be more energy efficient.

A lot of us are stuck at home due to the coronavirus pandemic. This means that activities we used to do and take for granted, like hanging out with friends and family members are no longer possible, at least for the time-being. However, to help ease some of that loneliness, Spotify has announced an update to its Group Session feature.
For those who are unfamiliar, Group Session was launched back in May. The idea behind it was that it allowed users in the same space to host listening sessions where people can tune in and listen to the same music or podcasts simultaneously, while at the same time practicing social distancing.
However, with this update, Group Session will be expanded where instead of having to be in the same space, users can now host remote sessions where if you have a friend living in another town, state, or country, you can still enjoy the simultaneous listening experience with each other.
According to Spotify, “In our latest innovation, we’re taking Group Session one step further with brand-new functionality that allows Spotify Premium users around the world to tune into the same playlist or podcast simultaneously. So no matter the distance—whether six feet apart or a thousand miles away—you and the members of your squad can now each listen to the same content at the same time on your own devices (as well as control playback).”

CES 2020 was probably one of the last major tech exhibitions in 2020 that was actually held in-person. This was before the coronavirus pandemic truly exploded, leading to other events like MWC 2020 to be cancelled. The organizers behind CES had initially planned to hold the event in-person for 2021, but it looks like those plans have since changed.
According to an announcement by the Consumer Technology Association, CES 2021 will be an all digital experience. This means that the event will not be held in-person and that might actually be a good thing. This is because it means that if you can’t spare the time or money to travel to Las Vegas for the event, you can now enjoy it from the comfort of your own home.
It will also give smaller companies and brands a better chance at competing for the attention of the public. According to the organizers, “The new format will allow participants to hear from technology innovators, see cutting-edge technologies and the latest product launches, and engage with global brands and startups from around the world.”
CES 2021 will be held from the 6th to the 9th of January, 2021. We’re not quite sure how this will work out just yet but presumably more details should follow in the coming months.

We’ve seen quite a few mobile devices designed around the idea of a flexible screen but nubia’s Alpha probably took the cake last year. Pretty much a smartphone you could wrap around your wrist, the device utilized a flexible screen that curved gently to offer a futuristic-looking smartwatch. This year, nubia has taken that idea and pulled it down to … Continue reading
