Over the years, Wizards of the Coast has received justified criticism for its use of racist tropes in Dungeons & Dragons. One target of that concern was the Vistani people, part of the game’s Ravenloft setting, seen in modules such as the Curse of Strahd, a story about a Dracula-type villain which features the Vistani…
Local Police Are Looking to Tech Companies for 'Less Lethal' Crowd Control Devices

Apple has not refreshed its iMac lineup for quite a while now. It has actually been more than a year. We have been hearing rumors of a potential refresh, and it seems that the long-awaited refresh will apparently be happening this week. However, before you get too excited, there might be some disappointing news.
This is because according to the rumors, this refresh will not be introducing the brand new design that we have been hearing about. Instead, the rumors are suggesting that Apple will apparently be saving the redesign for the iMacs that will pack their own custom silicon chips. This means that this upcoming release might only come with a hardware refresh that will probably just feature Intel’s newer processors and nothing more.
It has long been speculated that a refresh is coming, partly due to the fact that Apple has not refreshed the computer in more than a year. Also, if you recall, iMac shipping times have slipped rather dramatically where earlier this month, customers who wanted to order an iMac would have to wait until September before it shipped.
This has led some to believe that a refresh could be in the works which is why the company is running low on available stock. It is possible that the coronavirus pandemic could be the cause behind the delay, but we’ll have to wait and see, so take it with a grain of salt for now.

We have been hearing rumors that Apple could be including a braided USB-C to Lightning cable in the iPhone 12’s packaging. Whether or not that is true remains to be seen, but it looks like there is evidence that it could be. This is because Apple has started to sell a braided Thunderbolt 3 cable in its online store.
The cable is priced at $129 and it might seem like it is crazy expensive, but there could be a good reason for it, and there could also be a good reason why anyone would buy it. This is because it is one of the few certified cables that supports the Thunderbolt spec in its entirety. This includes DisplayPort, a 10GBps USB-C 3.1 Gen 2 connection, and transfer speeds of up to 40 Gbps.
They also feature chips on each end of the connectors which means that these are active cables and not passive ones. As some have pointed out, Apple’s Thunderbolt 3 cable is actually one of the cheaper options out there if you’re shopping about for similar cables. Clearly this cable isn’t designed for regular users but for professionals who might need fast transfer speeds and who might have external drives placed more than half a meter away.
If you are interested in getting your hands on the cable, you’ll be able to grab one from the Apple Online Store.

There seems to be mounting evidence to suggest that Apple could be working on a smaller 5.4-inch iPhone 12. Save for the iPhone SE, Apple hasn’t really made that small of an iPhone in years so it is actually interesting to see the company return to a smaller form factor, and now thanks to a leak, it looks like those rumors could be true.
The leak comes in the form of display panels that were posted onto Slashleaks. The post has since been taken down although we’re not sure why. Either it is because the images were proven to be fake or inaccurate, or someone decided that this was a photo that they weren’t supposed to share online.
However, given that this is the age of the internet, it’s safe to say that nothing ever truly gets deleted. It’s a bit hard to tell how big these screens are, but the general consensus is that they are smaller than the displays we’ve been seeing from Apple. The good news though, is that if these leaks are true, is that it could be another affordable smartphone from the Cupertino company.
iPhone prices have been getting a bit out of hand, but Apple seems to be dealing with that by creating more affordable alternatives. The company has seen great success with the iPhone XR and iPhone 11, so it will be interesting to see if they can continue that streak with a smaller iPhone 12.
