Apple Not Thrilled With Facebook’s ‘Transparency Message’ About The App Store
Posted in: Today's ChiliRight now, Apple’s App Store is under immense scrutiny. This is because of the 30% cut that Apple takes from things like in-app purchases, which companies like Epic weren’t too happy about. Now it seems that Facebook is wading into the drama as well as they are now claiming that Apple forced the company to remove a message that they put in their app.
Basically, Facebook included a message in their iOS app in which they attempted to inform users who use the app to make purchases made using Facebook’s new online events feature, that Apple would take a 30% cut from it. It appears that Apple was less than thrilled with the message and apparently “forced” Facebook to remove it.
Apple cited an App Store rule that prevents developers from showing what they claim is “irrelevant” information to users. According to Facebook, “Now more than ever, we should have the option to help people understand where money they intend for small businesses actually goes. Unfortunately Apple rejected our transparency notice around their 30% tax but we are still working to make that information available inside the app experience.”
Facebook has since removed the message, but has left a new message in which they are telling users that Facebook does not take a fee from these sales.

Updates are meant to be good things where they are expected to introduce improvements, new features, and bug fixes. However, Microsoft’s recent Windows 10 updates seem to be introducing more bugs than it fixes. In fact, the latest update for Windows 10 has revealed a new bug that could be slowly destroying your SSD.
According to a report from Bleeping Computer, it seems that the latest update has caused a bug with Windows’ “Defragment and Optimize Drives” tool. As a result of this bug, apparently Windows 10 will no longer record the last time your SSD was defragmented, and because of this, everytime your computer gets rebooted, Windows will attempt to defragment your SSD.
One of upsides of SSDs over HDD is its longevity due to the lack of moving parts. It is also not supposed to be defragged that often, and depending on how often you reboot your PC, it could end up being defragged several times a day which could hurt its health and ultimately how long it will last you.
Microsoft is said to be working on a fix for the bug and has rolled out a potential fix to Insiders, so hopefully it will find its way to other users soon. In the meantime, it might be a good idea to disable automatic defragging until the bug is fixed.
