Nikon Z6 II, Z7 II Listed By Online Retailer Ahead Of Official Reveal

A couple of years ago, Nikon decided to get serious about its mirrorless efforts and announced both the Nikon Z6 and Z7 full-frame mirrorless cameras to better compete with the likes of Sony. The company has since launched other mirrorless cameras part of its Z-lineup, but what about the originals? Will we be seeing a successor to either model?

It turns out that we might, at least that’s according to a listing on B&H Photo in which the online retailer has listed both the Nikon Z6 II and the Z7 II. The specs of either camera was not mentioned, but the fact that it was listed suggests that these cameras could be on their way. The page also features an event invite to a Nikon announcement which is scheduled for the 14th of October at 12AM ET.

At this point, it’s anyone’s guess as to what kind of specs or features or improvements either camera could be sporting. As for pricing, to give you some context, the Z6 was priced starting at $2,000 for body-only, while the Z7 was priced at $3,400 for body-only. It has been two years since the original cameras were launched, so we suppose they are due for a refresh.

Either way, if you’re interested in getting your hands or knowing more about either camera model, do check back with us in the coming weeks for more updates.

Instagram’s DMs Have Officially Merged With Messenger

We have been hearing a while about Facebook’s potential plans to merge some of its messaging services together. Back in August, Facebook started to merge Instagram’s DMs with Facebook Messenger, and now according to an announcement by the company, it looks like the merge has been officially completed.

According to Facebook, “More than a billion people already use Messenger as a place to share, hang out and express themselves with family and friends. That’s why we’re connecting the Messenger and Instagram experience to bring some of the best Messenger features to Instagram – so you have access to the best messaging experience, no matter which app you use.”

So what does this mean for Instagram users? For starters, it seems that Facebook is giving users a choice as to whether or not they want to update their app to the new feature. Users will be greeted by a screen asking if they want to update to this new method messaging, or skip it for now.

However, if you do choose to update, this means that instead of having to switch back and forth between Instagram and Messenger, you can choose to reply in whichever app you have open right now, as you can see in the screenshots above. It is an interesting update and if you use Messenger or Instagram DMs frequently, then this could be a welcome update.
