Gamer Credits Nintendo’s Ring Fit For Helping Him Get Incredibly Shredded

Fitness-related games aren’t exactly new, but it seems that if you wanted to lose weight or get toned, perhaps you might want to consider the Nintendo Ring Fit game. According to Japanese Twitter user kzm, he posted a photo of his insanely toned body onto the social media platform in which he credits the game for helping him achieve his body.

Kzm claims that he played the Ring Fit for about half a year and where he used the game to help him stay in shape during the pandemic lockdown. According to the screenshots he posted, kzm is said to have logged over 100 hours in the game where he burned a total of 21,000 calories, “ran” 175km, and did 29,000 pushups with the Ring-Con.

Of course, getting in shape is more than just about exercise and it’s also about eating right. While kzm did not disclose his diet, we can only assume that it played a role. After all, what’s the point of exercising if you’re just going to eat junk food immediately after, right? This is similar to pretty much all the exercise programs you see online, where despite their advertised claims about helping you achieve that elusive 6-pack through their fitness routines, there is an element of dieting as well.

That being said, kzm isn’t the first person to have lost weight thanks to the Ring Fit. Earlier this year, a man from the Philippines reportedly lost 9kg in 30 days from playing the game.

1Password Now Lets Users Create Burner Credit Cards

If there is one misgiving that people have when it comes to shopping online, it would be security, where some are worried that having their credit/debit card numbers and details stored online could potentially lead to it getting stolen. We’ve already seen that happen in various database breaches, so it is quite a legitimate concern.

However, the folks at 1Password think that they might have the answer to that problem and in a partnership with Privacy.com, the company has announced that they will now be letting users create burner credit cards.

Users will also be able to lock a particular card they’ve created to a specific merchant, which means that this virtual card can only be used with that merchant and nowhere else, so even if the numbers are stolen, the hackers won’t be able to go on a spending spree online. There will also be the ability to set spending limits, which is another security feature that would prevent a hacker from going crazy with your card even if they somehow manage to get their hands on it.

That being said, this new feature is currently only available in the US right now due to the fact that Privacy.com is only available stateside, but 1Password hints that expansion to more regions is a possibility.

Shopify Reveals That ‘Rogue’ Employees Stole Some Customer Data

If you’ve ever bought something online, there is a chance that you might have used Shopify’s online shopping platform. It is an incredibly popular system that many retailers are using these days, which is why it’s a bit worrying to hear that the company had recently experienced having some customer data stolen.

However, it seems that the data stolen was not due to a hack from outside forces, but rather two rogue employees. According to the company, “Our investigation determined that two rogue members of our support team were engaged in a scheme to obtain customer transactional records of certain merchants. We immediately terminated these individuals’ access to our Shopify network and referred the incident to law enforcement.”

Shopify is emphasizing that the data stolen was not a result of a hack or a breach, so for the most part, the data belonging to customers are still secure, save for those who were affected by it. “This data includes basic contact information, such as email, name, and address, as well as order details, like products and services purchased. Complete payment card numbers or other sensitive personal or financial information were not part of this incident.”

The company also notes that they have since gotten in touch with stores who were affected by this, who in turn should be notifying customers who were affected as well.
