Some 2020 iMacs Are Experiencing Graphical Glitches

Not too long ago, Apple updated its 27-inch iMac to what could possibly be the last ever Intel-based iMac. It is a powerful computer with an upgraded webcam, but unfortunately for some users, it seems that they are experiencing graphical glitches when they are using their computers.

For now, it seems that this mostly affects users who own the 27-inch iMac configured with the AMD Radeon Pro 5700 XT GPU. According to a MacRumors reader torifile, they posted on the forums saying, “Last night I thought I saw, out of the corner of my eye, a horizontal white line flash mid-way up the screen. It was really fleeting and I thought I was just seeing things. This morning, I saw the same thing. The computer isn’t running hot or anything.”

It is unclear if this is a hardware or software based issue, where if it is the latter, then it could be rather troublesome to get it fixed, but if it is the latter, hopefully updates to macOS or to the drivers of the GPU might be able to solve the problem. In the meantime, some users claim to have fixed the problem somewhat temporarily by opting to use a scaled resolution instead of using the default resolution, but like we said, it is temporary and not really an ideal fix.

Hopefully Apple will have a more permanent fix for the issue soon. In the meantime, you can check out the glitch in action in the video above.

Why East Asian Countries Were Wearing Masks Long Before COVID-19

As the pandemic’s toll rises, here’s what Americans can learn from East Asian countries about the humble face mask.

Look How Hot These People Wearing Masks Are

As we all know, face masks are a critical tool in battling the novel coronavirus pandemic. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have described them as “one of the most powerful weapons we have to slow and stop the spread” of the coronavirus, which causes the disease covid-19. This week, CDC Director Dr.…

This Is What You’ll Need To Run Cyberpunk 2077 On Your PC

Are you looking forward to playing CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077 on your computer? If you are, then you might want to take note of these PC hardware requirements that the company has recently published. What’s surprising though is that despite it being a modern title, the requirements don’t seem particularly outrageous.

Starting with the minimum requirements, you will need to have an Intel Core i5-3570K or an AMD FX-8310 CPU. You will also need at least 8GB of RAM and at least 70GB of HDD space, although the company does recommend that you use an SSD. As for the GPU, you will need either an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780 with 3GB of VRAM, or an AMD Radeon RX 470.

Like we said, the minimum hardware requirements are actually surprisingly low, and for the most part we imagine that many gamers should have a rig like this or better already. However, if you’re looking to take things to the next level, CD Projekt Red recommends an Intel Core i7-4790 or AMD Ryzen 3 3200G CPU or better.

They are also recommending that you have 12GB of RAM, and also an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 with 6GB of VRAM, or an AMD Radeon R9 Fury. Cyberpunk 2077 was initially expected to be released earlier this year, but it has since been delayed where it will now launch in November instead.

Fujifilm X-S10 Could Be The Company’s Next Mid-Range Camera

According to a rumor from last month, it was suggested that Fujifilm could be working on a couple of new mid-range cameras. Now according to the folks at Fuji Rumors, they have heard that for at least one of the models that the company will be launching, it could be known as the Fujifilm X-S10.

What’s interesting about this is that Fujifilm has used the X-S designation in the past with the Fujifilm X-S1. Back then, the camera was billed as being Fujifilm’s high-end camera and it was released in 2011, but the company has since moved on where its X-T, X-Pro, and X-H series have since taken top billing as the company’s flagship lineup.

Based on this, we’re not sure if the X-S10 is the successor to the X-S1, or if it is simply sharing the same model naming. At this point in time, not much is known about the X-S10 in terms of specs or features, but the previous rumor suggested that this camera could be part of a new lineup for the company.

It is also expected to be launched by the end of the Japanese fiscal year which ends in March 2021, which means that we have several months from now until then for Fujifilm to make their announcement.

A Tesla Owner Was Charged By The Police For Sleeping While Driving

Tesla has always been pretty careful when marketing its Autopilot feature, which they have insisted in the past does not turn their vehicles into self-driving cars, even though for the most part it does have certain autonomous capabilities. However, it has not stopped Tesla owners from treating it as such.

So much so that over in Canada, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police have actually charged a Tesla owner who was apparently driving down Highway 2 near Ponoka, a town in Alberta, at over 140kmph while both the front seats of the car were apparently completely reclined, with the driver and the passenger fast asleep.

When police encountered the 2019 Model S and turned on their emergency lights, the car apparently sped up to 150kmph before it eventually stopped. Police later charged the 20-year old driver with speeding, but those charges were later upgraded to dangerous driving and he now has to appear in court this December.

That being said, we have to wonder how the driver pulled this off. This is because Autopilot only works when the driver’s hands are on the wheel. When the car detects that their hands are off the wheel, they will issue a series of warnings before disengaging it, so we’re not sure how the driver managed to sleep while Autopilot was engaged.

DIY face masks are effective against powerful sneezes, too, study finds

Early on in the pandemic, there was some controversy over the use of homemade and reusable face masks, with the public expressing concerns over whether these common materials could suitably slow the spread of airborne droplets. A number of studies have validated the use of these masks, though they’ve focused on smaller droplets, not the larger ones expelled forcibly when … Continue reading
