This Is What The AirPods Studio Could Look Like

If the rumors are to be believed, Apple could be working on a pair of over-ear headphones called the AirPods Studio. Now thanks to a leaked photo and video uploaded onto Twitter by @choco_bit, we might have an idea of what they could look like, and boy does it not look like what we expected.

For the most part, the majority of over-ear headphones tend to feature circular or oval earcups. However, if the photo and video is accurate, Apple could be opting for a rectangular-shaped set of earbuds. This is definitely not the convention, although it has been done in the past with headphones like the Bowers & Wilkins P5.

Apart from the not-so-standard earcups, the rest of the headphones look pretty normal where they feature a padded headband with a gray mesh, which according to @choco_bit is the same mesh fabric that Apple uses for its HomePod speaker. Whether or not that will make for a comfortable pair of headphones remains to be seen.

That being said, these headphones could very well be the first pair of over-ear headphones made by Apple. The company has typically dealt with earphones in the past, unless you count the Beats brand that they acquired. There’s no word on its release yet, but there’s a good chance we could learn more about it during Apple’s iPhone event this October. Until then, take it with a grain of salt.

TikTok And WeChat Will Be Banned From US App Stores This Sunday

If you haven’t downloaded TikTok or WeChat yet, you might want to do so quickly. This is because according to an announcement by the US Department of Commerce, both TikTok and WeChat will be banned and removed from app stores in the US starting this Sunday, and will also see the ban of US companies hosting these services.

According to the announcement by the Department of Commerce, “In response to President Trump’s Executive Orders signed August 6, 2020, the Department of Commerce (Commerce) today announced prohibitions on transactions relating to mobile applications (apps) WeChat and TikTok to safeguard the national security of the United States.”

It was previously thought that TikTok could be “saved” when it was revealed that Oracle would help manage TikTok’s operations, thus potentially alleviating any national security concerns. However, a report from Bloomberg revealed that US President Donald Trump had stated that he did not like that deal and would not be signing off on it.

Note that this only affects TikTok and WeChat’s operations in the US. Both apps will continue to function perfectly fine and normal in other countries that it operates in. The ban also spells bad news for companies such as Apple, where an earlier survey suggested that users in China would rather give up their iPhones than lose access to WeChat.
