Are You Also Having the Mask Dream?

On the days where enough has gone right in my tiny sliver of our grim shared reality to dredge up the now-nostalgic emotion of insouciance, I’ll make it a block or two from my apartment before realizing, oh right, the pandemic didn’t end, and I forgot a mask. I run back, embarrassed and deflated. This happens, on…

ASUS And IKEA Team Up To Make Gaming Furniture

ASUS is a computer brand and IKEA is a furniture company. It might seem like neither company have anything in common, but that might no longer be the case. ASUS’ gaming division, ROG, have announced a partnership with IKEA in which both companies will be teaming up to create gaming furniture.

However, don’t expect it anytime soon. Both companies have stated that these new gaming furnitures will be initially launched in China starting in February next year, and if you live outside of China, it seems that you might have to wait until October or possibly even later. Right now, not much is known about what the company could have up their sleeves in terms of design or products, but ASUS says that it will help to form a “comprehensive home gaming ecosystem”.

According to the company, “Gamers have always dreamed of the perfect gaming space that is both comfortably functional and enables full immersion in games. With years of experience delivering innovative gaming solutions to gamers, ROG has a strong understanding of the gaming community. Together with Ikea as an expert in home furnishing, we envision that this collaboration will create synergies that empower gamers to build the gaming space they have always imagined in the comfort of their own homes.”

That being said, we guess we can’t say we’re surprised by this move. IKEA has been branching out into creating smart home solutions, so gaming furniture doesn’t seem entirely out of the question. Whether or not it’ll be affordable like the rest of the company’s furniture remains to be seen.

Google Introduces A Bunch Of New Hardware For Meetings

Google has plenty of smart home products when it comes to helping people stay in touch. This includes things like their Nest speakers and smart displays, just to name a few. However, it seems that Google is now branching out into enterprise hardware as the company has since unveiled the Google Series One meeting room kits.

These devices have been created for users who rely on Google Meet for their meetings. There will be several different kits for users to choose from, depending on their needs and the size of the room, but essentially the entire Series One lineup will consist of devices such as a touchscreen controller, mic pods, and pair of cameras, a compute unit, and a soundbar.

They will not come cheap either as they are priced starting at $2,699 for a “Small Room Kit”, meaning that it is clearly aimed at enterprise users and less for users who are at home.

According to Google, “As companies consider their safe return to the office, many are planning for a mix of remote and in-person work environments. They are redesigning meeting spaces to allow for social distancing with larger, sparsely-populated rooms or many smaller meeting spaces. This makes it more critical than ever to implement video solutions that are helpful and inclusive.”

iPhone SE Plus Screen Protector Listed On Best Buy

Earlier this year, Apple introduced the iPhone SE. This is the company’s latest attempt at creating an affordable iPhone, but the problem with it is that it was a bit small compared to some of Apple’s other iPhones. This is where the rumors later suggested that Apple could actually have an iPhone SE Plus in the works for the second half of 2020.

It’s starting to feel like those rumors could be true because over on Best Buy, it has been discovered that the retailer had put up a listing for a screen protector for the iPhone SE Plus. While it is entirely possible that Best Buy’s listing could have been made in error, the fact that there were rumors of an iPhone SE Plus certainly doesn’t help that theory.

Not to mention notable analyst Ming-Chi Kuo had also previously “confirmed” that Apple could have an iPhone SE Plus in the works as well where it is expected to feature the same dimensions of the iPhone 8 Plus. While the listing does not tell us when the phone will be announced, Apple is largely expected to host an iPhone event in October where it will be more than likely that we’ll be seeing new iPhones, one of which could be the rumored iPhone SE Plus.
