Sometimes it can be an easy fix, and sometimes it might be a bit tricky to try and locate the problem. This is why sometimes it is recommended that users boot into Safe Mode on Windows.
Safe mode, for those unfamiliar, basically puts your computer into the most basic and barebones version of Windows, where the idea is that by stopping other apps from booting up, it’ll give you a chance to try and figure out what could be causing the issue. It is useful, but what if you’re done with Safe Mode? How do you exit it?
How to exit Safe Mode on Windows
The quickest and most effective way of exiting Safe Mode on Windows is to simply restart your computer.
Sometimes when you do restart your computer, you will also be given the option to “Start Windows Normally”, which you should select to stop your computer from booting into Safe Mode.
However, if for whatever reason that won’t work and you’ve been rebooted into Safe Mode again, don’t panic because there is actually another way to get you out of it.
- Press the Windows logo key and R to bring up the “Run” tool
- Type msconfig and press Enter or click OK
- Select the Boot tab
- Under Boot options, clear the Safe boot checkbox and click OK
- Restart your computer
- You should now be back in normal Windows 10 mode again
