Apple Could Offer A Cheaper Apple Watch Later This Year

Apple typically offers the Apple Watch in one version with differing screen sizes, but that could change later this year. According to the latest rumors, Apple could be launching at least two Apple Watch models. One model is expected to be the flagship model with the top-of-the-line specs, while the other is expected to be the lower-end model.

Despite Apple continuously releasing new Apple Watches, the company tends to keep some older models around to act as a cheaper alternative to the newer ones. This has come in the form of the Apple Watch Series 3 which is still around until today, but if the latest rumors are right, there could finally be a new model to replace the Series 3.

It is unclear why Apple doesn’t simply just replace the Series 3 with the Series 5, but we’ll just have to wait and see. The top-of-the-line model is rumored to come with features like blood oxygen monitoring, an ECG monitor, a heart rate sensor, and all the other trappings that one might expect from a wearable like this.

For now, the blood oxygen monitor feature is new while the rest are old. Apple would also not be the first to introduce such a feature as we’ve seen similar features introduced by the competition in the past, such as Samsung, so it will be interesting to see whose tool is more accurate.

New Apple TV With Upgraded Chipset In The Works

The last time Apple updated the Apple TV was a while back. The company introduced the ability to watch TV shows and movies in 4K, as well as introduced a brand new remote. However, fast forward to today, the Apple TV is starting to feel a little dated and if you were interested in getting your hands on the gadget, you might want to hold off on that for now.

This is according to the latest rumors in which it seems that they are claiming that Apple will be introducing a brand new Apple TV at the iPhone event held in the second half of October. According to the rumors, this new Apple TV will feature brand new hardware like an upgraded processor, and it is also expected to introduce a  remote that is slightly upgraded from its predecessor.

This upgrade is said to come in the form of a “Find My” feature that will allow users to locate their remote in the event it gets lost. Given how small and slim it is, it is easy for the remote to slip in between the sofa cushions or under the couch where it can stay hidden, so this “Find My” feature will probably be something that users can look forward to.

We’re not sure what other upgrades Apple will be making to the new Apple TV, so we’ll just have to wait and see come October 2020 when the new iPhones are expected to be announced, unless Apple decides to host a separate event entirely.

Facebook Users In Australia Might Stop Seeing News Posts On Their Feed

Here’s a question: would you pay a platform like Facebook to promote your posts, or should Facebook pay you to publish your posts? We suppose that answer depends on how influential you are, and over in Australia, the country’s Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) drafted a proposal that would allow publishers to negotiate with the likes of Google and Facebook to get paid for including their news and articles in their services.

Basically, it believes that platforms like Google and Facebook benefit from having these publications, and as such, these publications should get paid for their content as well. Unfortunately, it seems that this move could backfire for users in Australia who rely on Facebook for their news.

This is because Facebook has stated that should this proposal come to pass and become legislation, it would result in Australian Facebook users unable to source their news from the social media platform.

According to Facebook Australia’s Managing Director, Will Easton, “Over the first five months of 2020 we sent 2.3 billion clicks from Facebook’s News Feed back to Australian news websites at no charge — additional traffic worth an estimated $200 million to Australian publishers.”
