Pluto’s methane ice caps are made from a completely different process than ice caps on Earth

You Can Now Hum A Song And Google Will Find It For You

We’ve all had those earworms where we hear a snippet of a song somewhere but we can’t for the life remember the name of it. You could search for the lyrics, but what if you don’t know the lyrics? What if you only remember the melody? The good news is that Google wants to make it easier for you to get rid of that earworm.

The company has announced an update to its Google Search app on mobile where you can tap on the microphone icon and say, “What’s this song?” followed by you humming the melody, after which Google will then attempt to search for the song for you based on the melody alone.

According to Google, this is achieved using machine learning algorithm. “After you’re finished humming, our machine learning algorithm helps identify potential song matches. And don’t worry, you don’t need perfect pitch to use this feature. We’ll show you the most likely options based on the tune.

At the moment, Google claims that the feature only works in English on iOS devices, but it will support more than 20 languages on Android, but there are plans to roll out support for more languages in the future. It is a pretty interesting feature, although we guess how well it works will vary, but you can try your luck with it if you’re interested.

iPhone 12 Pre-Orders Sold Out In Minutes In Taiwan

When the iPhone 12s were announced, Apple broke up the phones into two phases – the 6.1-inch iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro would be going on sale first, followed by the 5.4-inch iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12 Pro Max that will be coming in November. Over in Taiwan, it seems that local telcos have started accepting pre-orders and they sold out in minutes.

This is according to a report from DigiTimes who claims that pre-sales for the iPhone 12s offered by local telcos actually sold out in about 45 minutes. We should point out that it is unclear how many units the telcos had ordered or were allocated, so it’s hard to say if this is a resounding success.

Also, there are the orders taken directly by Apple, and we have no idea how well those will do, so maybe we shouldn’t get too excited just yet. However, what’s interesting about this is that according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, he had previously predicted that out of all the iPhone 12s that Apple would launch, the 6.1-inch models would prove to be the most popular.

However, like we said, it’s probably too early to tell how successful the new iPhones will be, but if these pre-orders are any indication, it looks like Apple could have another hit on their hands.
