Recently, Google revealed an upcoming feature for Google Photos in the form of a Locked Folder. This basically creates a folder on Google Photos that is password protected and photos stored in there won’t be visible while scrolling through your camera roll, thus saving you from potential embarrassment or awkward moments when handing someone your phone.
However, it appears that there is a catch. It seems that Locked Folders will not be synced across your Google accounts and devices. Instead, it will be limited to just the device you’re using it with. This means that if you happen to own multiple devices that share the same Google account, those devices won’t have the Locked Folder you previously setup on your primary device.
So does this mean that people can see your private photos on another device, like your computer or tablet? According to Google, photos added to the Locked Folder will be removed from things like Memories or photo print orders. They will also not appear on smart displays or Chromecast as a screensaver, so you can rest assured on that front. However, the company does warn that it could take up to 30 minutes for photos to be removed, so don’t expect to see the changes right away.

Back in 2019, Blizzard announced Overwatch 2, the sequel to Overwatch which was the company’s new IP in a very long time. Obviously there are going to be changes between the first and second games, and one of those changes will be how many players there are in a PvP match.
According to Overwatch’s game director, Aaron Keller, he revealed during a livestream that Overwatch 2 will be switching things up and that instead of 6v6 matches, they will be changing it to 5v5. According to Keller, this is because they feel that tanks in the game can get too “noisy” and that Blizzard wants to make the game’s combat easy to read and understand, so having a reduced player count will help with that.
According to Keller, “Sometimes it’s just hard to track what 11 other players are doing on the battlefield. Removing two of those simplifies everything and it allows players to understand everything that’s happening around them and make better choices because of it.”
In addition to reducing player count, Blizzard will also be making changes to tank characters to give them more damage dealing abilities since they might need to take on additional roles now.
Lead hero designer Geoff Goodman was quoted as saying, “We’re not taking every tank and just making them super aggro. In some cases we’re pushing some of the more aggro tanks and making them a little tankier. In a lot of cases they have more health … D.Va has a lot more Matrix juice in the can. We didn’t just give her more missiles and let her go kill everybody, she can actually protect her team a little more.”
Overwatch 2 still does not have a release date, but Blizzard did previously state that it will most likely not arrive in 2021.

There are a bunch of tech companies who have been making their own smart home products. The problem with those products is compatibility, where you can’t always mix and match if you’re hoping to create a cohesive system. This is why it was kind of a big deal when Google, Apple, and Amazon announced Matter, a new smart home alliance.
Now the good news is that if you’ve always eyed Google’s Nest products but you’re coming from an iOS background, you’ll be pleased to learn that Google will be bringing its Nest smart home devices to the Matter alliance. What this means is that HomeKit should eventually have access to devices like the Nest Thermostat.
It will also work in reverse, where devices that use the Matter protocol will now be able to connect with Google Home through Android. It can be annoying to look for smart home devices for one particular platform only to find that there is nothing that you want, and the gadget you want is actually not available for your platform.
To be fair, most smart home device makers have been pretty good at trying to make their products as widely compatible as possible, but this alliance should make things a lot easier. According to Google, “We’re committed to making the smart home more helpful. The Google smart home will keep finding ways to bring Google Assistant, Nest devices, industry-leading partners and new technology together to help you get things done, stay on track…and sometimes just sit back and enjoy your home.”

Many people have spent the pandemic largely at home, and that has resulted in many bored individuals deep cleaning the parts of their houses and apartments they’d ordinarily put off as a chore for a different day. This same habit seems to have put Goodwill in the awkward position of thanking the public for their donations, but also asking them … Continue reading

Being the most famous and beloved Dungeons & Dragons character of all time, you’d think every summer would be the summer of Drow elf ranger Drizzt Do’Urden. However, this summer, Wizards of the Coast is going out of its way to honor the savior of the Forgotten Realms, including a video biography that I simply can’t…
Though Netflix’s Halston primarily focuses on the life of its titular fashion designer, who built an empire on minimalist silhouettes and Ultrasuede, the miniseries also spotlights a number of important figures who came into Halston’s orbit while they were on their own journeys to stardom. Sony’s PS5 is hard to come by, which is why scalpers are having such a fantastic time reselling it at marked up prices. This is also why it’s not surprising that people are turning to the classifieds to buy the PS5 instead of from a store, but unfortunately there are downsides to these types of transactions.
According to a report from FNN, a 41-year old woman from Shinga, Japan, was arrested for fraud. This is because she had listed what she claimed was a PS5 online, but when the customer bought it, they received two two-liter bottles filled with water, and it was very expensive water we might add as the woman had paid 65,000 yen for it.
The woman then tried to get in touch with the seller but was unable too, and decided to call the police. According to the suspect, she claims she does not remember what was in the package that she had shipped out. “I shipped the packaged, but I don’t remember what was in it.” This isn’t the first time we’ve heard of these types of scams, and we doubt that it will be the last.
The best thing that you can do if you have to buy something from someone would be to do it in person, and always double check the contents before you hand over the money!
