Every year without fail we get some kind of rumor about a new and upgraded Nintendo Switch, but Nintendo also never fails to shut those rumors down, so you can see why we’re a bit skeptical of this new report from Bloomberg which claims that the new Nintendo Switch could be launching as soon as this September.
The report goes on to claim that the announcement of the console could take place at E3 2021 which would allow developers to show off their games for the console. This new model, dubbed the Nintendo Switch Pro, is expected to be priced more than the current Switch at $299, but that shouldn’t be surprising if the rumors about it using a new mini LED display are true.
The report goes on to claim that this new Pro model could eventually replace the current Switch which means that ultimately, Nintendo will have the Switch Lite and Switch Pro models to choose from, making the gap between both consoles even bigger than before. It remains to be seen if 2021 will indeed bring about a new Switch, but we wouldn’t be surprised if it did.
This is because Sony and Microsoft have already launched their new consoles so it would behoove Nintendo to try and not lag too far behind the competition.
