Xiaomi HyperCharge shows off 200W wired and 120W wireless charging

Battery technology, especially for smartphones, hasn’t evolved that much in the past years. That’s why smartphone makers have, instead, tried to upgrade the part that they can have more direct control. Charging technology, in contrast to batteries, has grown by leaps and bounds and we’re now looking at charging output at looks almost too dangerous to be true. But that’s … Continue reading

Scientists Think That Humans Have A Maximum Lifespan Of 150 Years

How old can humans live for? That is an interesting question. To date, the oldest person who has ever lived that has been verified is Jeanne Calment, a woman born in France in 1875 and who lived to a ripe old age of 122 years, 164 days, but is it possible to live to be even older than that?

It turns out yes, but at the same time, there could be a hard limit on how old a human could live for. According to a study published in the Nature journals, researchers Timothy V. Pyrkov, Konstantin Avchaciov, Andrei E. Tarkhov, Leonid I. Menshikov, Andrei V. Gudkov, and Peter O. Fedichev are claiming that the hard limit on human life could be at 150 years old.

This is because according to the researchers, they say that at that age range, the human body would lose the ability to recover from illnesses and injuries. While it is generally accepted that older people might not be as resilient compared to younger people at recovering from injuries or illnesses, there has never really been a hard cap on how long humans could theoretically live for.

However, the researchers also believe that should there be therapies that could help extend the body’s resilience, that hard cap could be increased and we could see humans live longer, healthier lives.

Nintendo Switch Pro Listing Spotted On Amazon

Recently, there was a rumor suggesting that a new Nintendo Switch Pro could be launching this September. We can’t say for sure if the rumors are true or are even credible, but a report from MySmartPrice has revealed that Amazon might have let the cat out of the bag a bit earlier than expected.

The report claims that there was a listing on Amazon Mexico for the Nintendo Switch Pro, but it was deleted shortly after. It is possible that the listing could have been made in error and that someone made a typo. The alternative is that the console does exist and that someone might have let it slip too early.

We remain a bit skeptical of the claims of a new Nintendo Switch console. This is because there have been rumors about Nintendo’s plans for an upgraded Switch a while ago, but those rumors have constantly been refuted by the company themselves, so who’s to say that this time it will be any different?

That being said, the Nintendo Switch was launched in 2017 towards the tail end of the previous-gen consoles like the PS4 and Xbox One, so the need to upgrade it wasn’t as important. However, with the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S currently in circulation, it might be time for Nintendo to step things up.

Intel’s Latest 11th Gen Processor Brings 5.0GHz Clock Speeds To Thin Laptops

When we think of thin and light laptops, the goal here is obviously portability. If you wanted a more powerful laptop, you probably have to opt for something a bit bigger with the necessary hardware to give it that extra kick, but that might not be needed anymore. This is thanks to Intel’s latest 11th gen processors.

At Computex 2021, Intel took the wraps off its new U-series processors which include the top-of-the-line Core i7-1195G7 processor and the Core i5-1155G7 processor. The former comes with a base clock speed of 2.9GHz, but using Intel’s Turbo Boost Max 3.0 technology, users could boost its single core clock speed to that of a whopping 5.0GHz.

This would essentially make it the first time the thin and light laptop category can be pushed beyond 5.0GHz, theoretically unlocking all kinds of possibilities for power users who might need that extra burst of power. The Core i5-1155G7 is no slouch either as its base is at 2.5GHz, but can be boosted to 4.5GHz, which is still mighty impressive.

The new processors are set for a release this fall, so it will be interesting to see what kind of new laptops we can expect, so if you’re planning on upgrading, you might want to hold off until later in the year.
