Microsoft Teases Their ‘Next-Generation’ Of Windows

Windows 10 was originally released in 2015. This means that the operating system is about 6 years old now, although to be fair, Microsoft has done quite a lot in terms of updates to make it feel new and exciting with all the different features, but it seems that it could be time for something a bit more bigger and drastic.

During Microsoft’s Build keynote address, the company’s CEO Satya Nadella revealed that the company was working on the next-generation of Windows. “Soon we will share one of the most significant updates to Windows of the past decade to unlock greater economic opportunity for developers and creators. I’ve been self-hosting it over the past several months, and I’m incredibly excited about the next generation of Windows.”

He adds, “Our promise to you is this: we will create more opportunity for every Windows developer today and welcome every creator who is looking for the most innovative, new, open platform to build and distribute and monetize applications. We look forward to sharing more very soon.”

It’s an interesting statement because there have been talks that Microsoft could soon allow for third-party commerce platforms within apps, meaning that developers can use their own payment methods and avoid having to give Microsoft their cut. While Windows 10 is perfectly fine, we suppose change isn’t a bad thing so we can’t wait to see what Microsoft has in store for us.

Razer BlackWidow V3 Mini HyperSpeed Keyboard Announced

For those who aren’t into mechanical keyboards, you might only be familiar with full-sized keyboards that come with a numpad, or maybe even TKLs which takes away the numpad. However, in the enthusiast scene, you have even smaller form factors like 60% or 65% keyboards.

For those who are shopping about for smaller keyboards, Razer has announced its latest keyboard in the form of the BlackWidow V3 Mini HyperSpeed. This is a 65% keyboard, making it slightly bigger than the Razer Huntsman Mini. The main differences are the addition of dedicated arrow keys and also navigation buttons which can double as macros.

The keyboard is also wireless which makes it one of the few wireless mechanical keyboards out there, which is great if you hate cables. It comes with the features you’d expect from Razer such as customizable Chroma RGB backlighting, support for Razer Synapse 3, and also the ability to store multiple profiles on it for different purposes and situations.

Razer will also offer the option to choose between the company’s Green mechanical switches, which are clicky, or Yellow which are linear that will be less noisy compared to the Greens. The Razer BlackWidow V3 Mini HyperSpeed will be priced at $180 and will be available for purchase via Razer’s website.

The Little Mermaid's Voice of Sebastian, Samuel E. Wright, Has Died

Disney animated films are known for their recognizable, unmistakable voices, but few fit that bill quite as much as Samuel E. Wright. iOS 15 Could Introduce A New Food Tracking Feature

It is no secret that Apple is looking into giving its devices more medical capabilities. The Apple Watch is a perfect example of the company’s ambitions, but it seems that Apple could be expanding it to other devices like the iPhone. According to a tweet by Connor Jewiss, one of the features we can expect to look forward to in iOS 15 would be food tracking.

It is unclear how exactly this feature will work, but presumably it could be similar to other apps such as MyFitnessPal. For those unfamiliar, MyFitnessPal is a health tracking app that lets users log their daily meals and also helps them count calories. It can also be used to scan barcodes for products you buy off the shelf so you get more accurate nutrition information.

That would be one way that Apple could introduce food tracking to iOS 15 through the Health app, but as some have pointed out in the comments, MyFitnessPal has managed to build up quite a massive database of food items over the years, so it will be interesting to see how Apple could compete with them.

In any case, it would be interesting to see such a feature arrive for iOS devices. We expect more details about iOS 15 will be revealed in the coming weeks as WWDC 2021 is around the corner, so check back with us then for more updates.

Tesla Has Started Shipping Cars Without Radar Sensors

One of the methods that carmakers have been using to build self-driving cars would be to include the use of radar sensors. This is used to help detect things like objects that could be in front of the car so that it knows what to do, like slow down, stop, drive around it, and so on, but for Tesla, they will no longer be using it.

Just last month, Tesla’s CEO Elon Musk said that they would start to remove the radar sensors from its production cars, and now it has been revealed that some of Tesla’s cars for North America, like the Model 3 and Model Y no longer have the sensors built into them. This does not mean that Tesla is giving up on self-driving technology, but rather the company seems to think that relying on cameras would be better.

Back in April, Musk raised an interesting question in which if the radar sensor and cameras were to disagree with each other on the data being picked up, which would you believe? He also points out how cameras are able to collect more bits/sec compared to radar, which could make for more accurate reporting.

Right now, it seems that the removal of radar sensors only applies to the two cars we mentioned above. The company’s more expensive models like the Model S and Model X will still continue to use radar.
