Diablo 2: Resurrected Will Be Released September 23

After releasing the technical alpha for Diablo 2: Resurrected earlier this year, Blizzard has since announced the release date for the game itself at E3 2021. For those who have been looking forward to getting their hands on it, Diablo 2: Resurrected will now be released on the 23rd of September later this year.

It will be playable across a wide variety of platforms which includes the PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and also the Nintendo Switch, which pretty much covers all platforms. Blizzard is also expected to launch a multiplayer beta in August, so that might be something that gamers can look forward to if they want to check the game out early.

Players who pre-order the game will be granted early access to the beta, so that’s some incentive right there. However, it should be noted that the beta will only offer five playable classes – Amazon, Druid, Barbarian, Paladin, and Sorceress, while the Necromancer and Assassin will only be available once the full game is out.

Since Diablo 2: Resurrected is based on an old game, it will be priced at $39.99 instead of the usual $59.99 we see for most triple A titles. However, there will be a Diablo Prime Evil Collection priced at $59.99 which also includes Diablo 3 Eternal Collection as well as some added Diablo 3 cosmetics.

Square Enix Announces ‘Pixel Perfect’ Makeovers For Final Fantasy 1-6

Courtesy of SQUARE ENIX CO, LTD.

Over the years, we’ve seen Square Enix remake and remaster some of its Final Fantasy titles to make them more playable on modern day PCs and consoles. However, it seems that the company isn’t done remaking its titles just yet. At E3 2021, Square Enix announced that Final Fantasy 1-6 will be getting “pixel perfect” makeovers.

We’re not 100% sure what they mean. In the past remasters usually mean that we see the graphics in the games updated with more modern graphics while keeping everything else the same. Final Fantasy VII was the exception where Square Enix rebuilt the game pretty much from scratch.

Based on this announcement, it seems that this will most likely be the same games but with improved graphics, but that’s all we know about it at the moment. However, based on this, it should be noted that it will most likely not be headed down the same path as the Final Fantasy VII remake, so if you were hoping for massive overhauls, this won’t be it.

Some of the comments on the announcement are less than positive, with some wondering why Square Enix keeps remaking titles. Also, some gamers seem to be a bit disgruntled that these titles will be for PC and mobile and not for console. Either way, we should have more details leading up to the release so check back with us later for more updates.
