OnePlus Nord 2 renders give a sense of déjà vu

Its true successor is still coming, even OnePlus said so, but details about the OnePlus Nord 2 are still unofficial. As is the company’s practice, OnePlus might start teasing the phone closer to its launch, but, … Continue reading

Galaxy Watch 3 won’t be getting Wear OS

Samsung just made its big wearable spiel earlier, exciting Wear OS users of what’s coming next. The next Galaxy Watch will be the first wearable to run Google’s new wearable platform, one that will look more like One UI rather than the Wear OS some have become familiar with. Unfortunately for Galaxy Watch fans, the news isn’t exactly all good, … Continue reading

Apple Wants To Replace Your Wallet And Keys With The Apple Watch

There is no doubt that the Apple Watch has steadily become an important piece of technology for fitness and health enthusiasts. Thanks to its various health sensors and features, we’ve heard countless stories of how the watch has helped people get fit and to exercise more, and how it has even saved lives.

However, Apple envisions the Apple Watch being more than just a health tool. The company envisions the Apple Watch potentially replacing almost everything you would carry on your person, like your wallet and your keys. This was revealed during an interview with Yahoo Finance in which Deidre Caldbeck, director of Apple Watch product marketing, explained some of the changes that Apple made with watchOS 8.

According to Caldbeck, “This is kind of our vision for eventually replacing the physical wallet where you just have everything you need…right on your wrist.” watchOS 8 was announced at WWDC 2021 earlier this month, and some of the features include being able to store digital IDs in the Wallet app, like a driver’s license.

Kevin Lynch, Apple’s VP of technology adds, “You’ll be able to have it in your Wallet. You can see your ID there like your other cards. And then you can present that if you choose to, for example, TSA.” It sounds mighty convenient, although the downside is that losing your watch or if it stops working could present a problem.

Heineken Made A Beer Cooler Robot That Follows You Around

Have you ever grabbed a beer from your fridge, walked around your backyard enjoying it only to realize that you’ve finished it? Now you need to walk back to your kitchen to grab a second one, how troublesome is that? Turns out that Heineken understands your struggle because the company has since debuted the Beer Outdoor Transporter, also known as BOT.

This is a beer cooler robot that not only keeps your beer cold, but has the ability to follow you around and comes equipped with what Heineken is calling a “charming” AI personality. This means that not only can this robot follow you around and dispense cold beers, but you’ll also be able to interact with it.

Judging from the video trailer above, it seems to be smart enough where it can detect edges so that it won’t just blindly follow you into the pool. It is a very novel idea and seems to be more fun than it is practical, but hey, that’s not a bad thing. Unfortunately, it seems that you won’t be able to buy the BOT.

This will be a limited edition product and the only way you can get your hands on one is to enter a contest that Heineken will be holding on the 1st of July.

Snapchat Is Aware Its App Is Crashing On The iPhone

Usually when a software is updated, there is a chance that it could run into issues with the operating system it is on. This is why developers run beta tests to try and smooth out all the kinks, but sometimes certain things aren’t picked up on until they make their way into the hands of users.

Unfortunately for Snapchat users on the iPhone, if you’re experiencing crashes at an alarming frequency, you’re not alone. It seems that in the latest version of the app that was submitted to the App Store and was updated by users, the app is crashing rather frequently to the point where it is making it nigh unusable.

Snapchat has since acknowledged the issue on Twitter where they said, “We’re aware of an issue with the latest version of Snapchat available in the App Store. Hang tight, we are looking into it and working on a fix!” It is unclear what is causing this issue or how many users are affected, but hopefully a fix will be released soon.

This affects the 11.34.0.35 version of the app, so if your app hasn’t been updated yet, it’s probably best to skip this update for now. Also, if you have automatic app updates enabled, you might want to temporarily disable it until the fix for the issue has been released.

The most recent version of Snapchat has been plagued by a bug that forced it to crash upon launching, but no longer! An update has been made available in the App Store to correct the issue, which was seemingly only affecting the iOS version of the app (Android users don’t see to have experienced the same issue).

OPPO RAM+ expansion gives 7GB more RAM to Reno 5 phones

Chinese Android phone makers have been known for heavily modifying Android user experiences, but they have been less aggressive about those changes in recent years. Of course, they still have modified systems and custom apps, but, admittedly, some of those bring true value on top of vanilla Android. One of the most recent trends among these companies is extending RAM … Continue reading

Pixel 5a Could Be Launching This August

We have been hearing about Google’s rumored plans for the Pixel 5a for a while now, but nothing official has been announced to date. We did expect the phone to launch earlier in the year which is what Google did with some of its previous “A” series of Pixel phones, but that clearly did not pan out.

However, according to a report from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, he has suggested that the Pixel 5a will instead be launching this August and it is also expected to go on sale the same month. That being said, what will be interesting is whether or not this August date means we can expect to see the Pixel 6 at the same time as well.

This is because Google usually launches their new Pixel phones in the second half of the year. The Pixel 5 was launched in September 2020, so the Pixel 6 could be as well. However, back to back launches seem a little weird and a little inefficient, so there is a chance that the Pixel 5a’s launch in August could also see Google launch the Pixel 6 as well.

Of course, this is just speculation on our end so don’t take it as gospel, so only time will tell if we are right. In the meantime, the Pixel 5a is said to only be available in the US and Japan, but it is unclear if this limitation will be a temporary thing, possibly due to chip shortages, or if it will be permanent.
