Pixel 5a (5G) reportedly overheats when recording at 4K 60fps

Since 2013, Google has made 14 smartphones, the latest being the Pixel 5a which was announced just this week. Despite eight years of experience and multiple hardware partners, it seems that the tech giant still hasn’t nailed quality down. There have been issues here and there across all Pixel generations, not all of which could be fixed by a software … Continue reading

OnePlus 9 RT Expected To Launch In October

OnePlus typically launches two flagships a year. One will be in the early part of the year, and the other in the second half of the year. However, there have been rumors claiming that there might not be a OnePlus 9T this year, but it looks like those plans could have changed, at least kind of changed.

According to a report from Android Central, they have heard that OnePlus will apparently be launching a OnePlus 9 RT this October. Given the naming scheme, it won’t be an upgrade over the OnePlus 9, but rather an upgrade to the OnePlus 9R. This means that we can expect similar features like the 120Hz AMOLED display, but there could also be an upgrade to the Snapdragon 870 chipset where apparently it will be a higher-binned version.

Other rumored features include a 4,500mAh battery with 65W fast-charging and a 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor. It is also going to be the first phone from OnePlus to run OxygenOS 12 out of the box, which is based on Android 12, meaning that it will be beating the flagship OnePlus 9 to the punch.

That being said, don’t get too excited just yet. This is because the OnePlus 9 RT is said to be limited in terms of availability. It is said to be only available in India and China, at least for now, so don’t get your hopes up at getting your hands on it yet.

T-Mobile To Offer Customers Google One Subscriptions At $5 A Month

Google One is Google’s answer to Apple’s iCloud and Microsoft’s OneDrive. It is a cloud storage service that offers varying data plans to users depending on their needs, but if you feel that the current amount offered is either too big or too little, then you might want to keep an eye out for T-Mobile’s announcement.

This is because according to a report from The T-Mo Report, they have been tipped off by their sources that T-Mobile and Google could be working together to offer an exclusive Google One subscription just for T-Mobile customers. This plan is said to come in at 500GB of storage and will be priced at $5 a month.

At the moment, Google offers four different tiers for Google One. This includes the base and free tier of 15GB, then it goes to 100GB, then 200GB, before jumping to 2TB. 500GB would be right between 200GB and 2TB and could be a compromise for those who need more than 200GB but don’t want to pay for 2TB of cloud storage.

The plan is said to be launching on the 1st of September and will be offered to all T-Mobile customers. The carrier hasn’t officially announced anything yet but if the 1st of September launch date is true, we should be able to expect an announcement soon.

Apple Just Patented A Keyboard With A Removable Keycap That Acts As A Mouse

Pretty much all laptops come with a built-in trackpad that acts as a mouse so that users won’t have to bring their own mouse when they’re out and about. However, the problem with trackpads is that they feel less precise compared to a mouse as you’re trying to use your finger to pinpoint something on the screen.

However, it seems that Apple might have an answer to that problem, and that is by hiding a mouse inside of a keycap on the keyboard. As discovered by Patently Apple, it seems that Apple has filed for a patent for something called a “Deployable Key Mouse”. What this patent suggests is that a keyboard could have a keycap that can be removed and double up as a mouse.

This means that under normal use, it would function as part of the keyboard, but in the event that the user might require more accurate pointing, they can just remove this section of the keyboard and use it as a mouse. However, we have to wonder about its effectiveness given how tiny it is.

With a keycap being so small, how accurate or functional as a mouse can it really be, and wouldn’t users be better off using the trackpad instead? It is possible that maybe it could be useful on a device like future iterations of the Magic Keyboard iPad accessory, but in any case, we have no idea if Apple ever plans to make this a reality.
