Epic Just Paid Apple $6 Million As Ordered By The Court

As some of you have probably heard by now, the lawsuit between Apple and Epic is kind of over. As part of the ruling, the judge had ordered Epic to pay Apple $6 million which is how much the company owes for violating the App Store’s rules, combined with 30% of what Epic made from in-app purchases from Fortnite that used a third-party payment system.

In a tweet by Epic’s CEO Tim Sweeney, he has announced that the company has since paid up the $6 million due to Apple. We expected a bit of resistance on that part since Epic did state that they are planning on filing an appeal, but we suppose it is possible that if they win the appeal, they might be able to get their money back.

The ruling found both parties to be guilty of various issues, like Apple for engaging in anti-competitive behavior, and Epic for violating the App Store’s rules. It also saw Apple being forced to allow developers to communicate with users to let them know about third-party payment methods.

Epic had previously tried to convince Apple to allow Fortnite back onto the App Store, but Apple shot them down stating that they would welcome Epic back if they agreed to play by the same rules as other developers.

Sennheiser CX Plus True Wireless Earbuds Launched

If you are looking for a pair of active noise-cancelling true wireless earbuds, then maybe Sennheiser could have something for you as the company has since debuted the CX Plus True Wireless. These are part of the company’s CX lineup and it is also a more affordable alternative to the Momentum True Wireless 2.

To give you some context, the Momentum True Wireless 2 earbuds were launched in 2020 and were priced at $300. The CX Plus True Wireless, on the other hand, will be priced at $180, making it considerably more affordable if you don’t really need all the bells and whistles its more expensive sibling has to offer.

In terms of specs and features, the CX Plus comes with active noise-cancellation technology, an upgrade over some of its earlier models where it only featured passive cancellation. There is also an ambient sound mode, and the use of Sennheiser’s TrueResponse transducer, which apparently brings “audiophile technology” to “everyday” earbuds, or so the company claims.

The CX Plus will also feature 8 hours of battery life per full charge, and the carrying case will also provide an additional two charges, bringing the total of 24 hours. Sennheiser will begin selling the CX Plus on the 28th of September where it will be available in black or white.

iPad Mini Concept Video Is The Redesign We’ve Been Waiting For

While Apple focused their attention on the iPad Pro and the redesign of the iPad Air, there was a tablet that they kind of neglected and that was the iPad mini. If the rumors are to be believed, Apple will eventually be updating it where it could sport a larger display and also a brand new design that’s more in line with Apple’s other tablets.

While that has yet to be confirmed, a concept video created by 4RMD has given us a glimpse as to what that tablet could look like. It should be noted that this is a concept and kind of a wishlist of what the updated iPad mini could look like and what its specs are, as opposed to being a leak based on actual specs and dimensions.

However, the renders don’t look entirely implausible. This is because it uses the flat edges that we’ve seen in the iPad Pro and iPad Air refresh, while coming in various colors that Apple used with its new M1 iMacs, so while we can’t say for sure if this is what the iPad mini will look like, we wouldn’t mind if it did.

4RMD also states that in this concept render, it will come with an 8.8-inch Liquid Retina Display and will be powered by the A14 Bionic, improved Touch ID, support for Apple Pencil, and will also feature a 120Hz refresh. What do you think? Is this an iPad mini you could get behind on?
