Some Xbox owners can now test cloud gaming on their consoles

Microsoft is preparing to complete a large piece of its cloud gaming puzzle when it brings the option to Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S sometime this holiday season. Starting today, though, a random group of Alpha Skip-Ahead and Alpha Insiders can try cloud gaming on their consoles. The test will expand to more Insiders and members of other preview rings in the coming weeks.

If you have access, you can try cloud gaming by looking for the cloud icon on titles in the Xbox Game Pass library. To see a full list of games you can stream, go to My Games & Apps, then Full Library and Xbox Game Pass, and change the filter to Cloud Gaming. At the outset, you’ll be able to play more than 100 games without having to download them — as long as you have a sturdy enough internet connection.

Microsoft highlighted some known issues in a blog post, such as not being able to play base games that are part of a bundle (Halo: The Master Chief Collection, for instance). You also can’t make any in-game purchases while playing a cloud gaming title, but you can do so through the Store on your console or the web. Meanwhile, if you have installed a game on an external drive that isn’t connected to your Xbox, you won’t be able to play it over the cloud. That seems like an annoying bug but hey, that’s what beta tests are for.

Don’t fret too much if you don’t have access just yet. Console cloud gaming should be available for all Game Pass Ultimate subscribers within the next few months, perhaps just in time to play Halo Infinite. Xbox One owners will also be able to play some Series X/S games on their console.

How To Fix ‘Windows Cannot Complete The Extraction’ Error

A ZIP file is a great way to bundle up a bunch of files and also compressing them to make them smaller. They’re usually sent by companies who bundle media files and PDFs together, and also banks like to send ZIP files that contain financial reports, investment portfolios, and so on.

Unzipping a ZIP file is pretty easy and straightforward. In fact, with more recent builds of Windows, you wouldn’t even need a third-party extraction software like you did back in the day. All you need to do is open the ZIP file and extract the contents to its destination folder and you’re done.

However, there are times when you might encounter an issue when you’re trying to extract a file. If you ever run into the error that says, “Windows Cannot Complete the Extraction”, here are several ways to fix them.

Why Does This Message Occur?

When you get the “Windows Cannot Complete the Extraction” error message, the reason is usually because the ZIP file is in a protected area. Alternatively, another possible reason is that the downloaded ZIP file is corrupt and that’s why it cannot be opened. Below are several methods you can try to get around the problem.

Method 1 – Restart Your Computer

More often than not, a lot of computer related problems can be solved with a restart.

  1. Click the Start menu
  2. Click the power button
  3. Click Restart

Method 2 – Move The File To A Different Location

If restarting your computer doesn’t work, then the next thing you can do is try moving the ZIP file to a different location. Like we said, the reason why you encounter the issue is due to the file being in a protected location, so moving it to a different drive or a different folder could help solve the issue.

Method 3 – Redownload The File

There could have been an issue when you downloaded the file. Maybe something happened during the download and the end result is the file getting corrupted, which could also affect whether or not it can be extracted.

Method 4 – Download A Third-Party Extractor

There are times when you attempt to extract a ZIP file but for some reason, you encounter the “Windows Cannot Complete The Extraction” error when you use the default extractor built into Windows.

In this case, you might want to try downloading a third-party extraction tool like 7-Zip which is free to use. Using it is very simple – just download the tool and open your ZIP file with 7-Zip and you’re good to go.

Method 5 – Renaming The File

Sometimes your downloaded files might have names that are simply too long, which in turn could cause some issues when you’re trying to extract it. You can always try giving the ZIP file a new name by right-clicking on it and select “Rename” and giving it a shorter name to see if this does away with the problem.

Method 6 – Run SFC And CHKDSK

Microsoft actually has a couple of built-in tools designed to check your system files and computer drives for any corruption or errors, and it can fix them too. If the above methods don’t work, then maybe it might be time to run these diagnostic tools to check.

  1. Press Start and search for “Command Prompt”
  2. Right-click and select “Run as administrator”
  3. Type “sfc /scannow” (or “sfc /scannow /offbootdir=c: /offwindir=c : windows” if that doesn’t work)
  4. Wait for the verification to complete
  5. Restart your computer
  6. Press Start and search for “Command Prompt” again
  7. Right-click and select “Run as administrator”
  8. Type “CHKDSK /f /r”
  9. Type “Y” when prompted and hit Enter

How To Setup Voicemail On Android

In this day and age where instant messengers are extremely commonplace, one has to wonder if there is still a need for voicemail? After all, using platforms like WhatsApp does almost the same thing where you could leave them a written message or a voice memo for them to check when they’re free.

However, voicemail still has its place. Instant messengers rely on the internet and should you find yourself without a stable internet connection, voicemail can still be accessed as long as you have cell reception, making it a “better” choice since it will work regardless of your internet connection status.

That being said, if you’re keen on setting up voicemail on your Android phone, here’s what you need to do.

Setting Up Voicemail For Android

Method 1

  1. Open the Phone app on your phone
  2. In the dialer screen, tap and hold the number “1” to call your voicemail service
  3. If your voicemail is setup, you might be asked for a PIN
  4. If you haven’t setup your voicemail yet, you might hear an error message saying you do not have voicemail setup
  5. Follow the instructions on how to setup voicemail for your number
  6. Hang up when you’re done
  7. Press and hold the number “1” on the dialer to call your voicemail to confirm it is setup

Method 2

  1. Launch the default Phone dialer app that comes with your phone
  2. Tap the three dots icon located at the top right corner
  3. Select Settings
  4. Select Voicemail
  5. Go to Advanced Settings
  6. Tap Setup
  7. Tap Voicemail Number
  8. Enter your phone number and tap OK

Why Setup Voicemail?

Like we said, voicemail is a good alternative to instant messengers and will work even if you don’t have an internet connection, so it’s a good way to leave messages that can be accessed anytime and almost anywhere. It’s also a good way to let people leave you a message in case your phone is turned off or you’re busy.

Some people choose not to have voicemail setup because depending on where you are in the world, voicemail might be seen as a value-added-service that could cost you extra or cost you money whenever you try to access a recorded voicemail.
