DJI Mavic 3 Leak Hints At Improved Cameras And Flight Time

DJI has quite a number of drones under its belt where they cater to a variety of customers, whether it be budding hobbyists, enthusiasts, or professionals, DJI has drones to cover them all. The good news for those who aren’t necessarily professionals but might appreciate an upgrade anyway, then the DJI Mavic 3 could be a drone to keep an eye out for.

This is thanks to Jasper Ellens who shared alleged leaked specs of the upcoming drone, and it looks like if it’s accurate, it could pack quite a number of impressive hardware upgrades. This includes a new 4/3-inch camera sensor that will allow the drone to capture 5.2K video and 20MP stills.

This is quite a huge upgrade for aerial photographers who are hoping for better quality cameras to improve on their photos or videos. Prior to this, drone pilots hoping for a 4/3 sensor would have to buy a separate camera like the DJI Zenmuse or use Panasonic’s BGH1.

Other features include direct USB-C charging which means that you won’t have to remove the battery, and speaking of battery, the flight time of the Mavic 3 has been listed as 46 minutes, slightly longer than the 31 minutes on the Mavic 2. The Mavic 3 is also said to be priced starting $1,600 and will most likely be announced on the 15th of November.

Jawbone Sues Apple Over ANC Tech In The AirPods Pro

One of the features of Apple’s AirPods Pro is its active noise cancellation feature. However, it seems that Apple could have potentially infringed upon the tech used for the AirPods Pro, or so Jawbone is claiming in a lawsuit that they have filed against the Cupertino company.

For those unfamiliar or who are wondering why the name sounds so familiar, it is because Jawbone was one of the companies from a few years ago that competed in the same wearables space as other companies like Fitbit. The company has since gone bankrupt and we thought we’d never hear from them again, until now.

According to the lawsuit, it points out eight different patents that they own that are related to limiting background noise. Apparently Jawbone had offered companies like Apple and Google a chance to buy the patents, but was denied. It is unclear who might be behind the lawsuit since we imagine that most of the people behind the company have since moved on.

The report from Bloomberg points out that Jawbone is now headquartered in Waco, Texas in a small office building that does not have a phone number attached to it. Apple has yet to respond to the lawsuit so it is unclear what they plan to do about it, but we imagine that they’ll probably challenge it.

Future iPad Pro Could See Apple Reorient The Cameras And Its Logo

At the moment, Apple’s iPads are all designed where it seems that the default orientation would be portrait mode, even though it can be used either way. We can see this in the design of the cameras and the placement of the Apple logo. However, that might change in a future iPad Pro.

This is according to a tweet by leakster @dylandkt who claims that in a future design iteration of the iPad Pro, Apple will apparently reorient the camera and logo placement to a horizontal position. The tweet does not mention which future iPad Pro will be getting this redesign, so it does not necessarily mean it will be the next refresh and it could be the one after that or even later.

We’re not sure what’s the point of reorienting the logo and camera. However, it is possible that maybe Apple is trying to push for the tablet to be used more as a pseudo laptop of sorts and having the cameras and logo oriented horizontally looks better and makes more sense.

That being said, we’re not sure when the iPad Pro is expected to get a redesign. The tablet’s redesign was originally introduced a couple of years ago and kind of kicked off Apple’s current flat-edged design language. Take this with a grain of salt for now but what do you think of the possible change in design?

Warner is making a documentary on DC Comics for HBO Max

A three-part documentary series on DC Comics is coming to HBO Max, according to Deadline. Warner Bros. Unscripted Television is producing the documentary, which will detail the influence and legacy of DC from the time it was established and the time Superman was born in the 1930s. The division is working with Leslie Iwerks (as co-director and executive producer) and Greg Berlanti (as executive producer) for the project.

Iwerks is known for several other high-profile documentaries, including The Pixar Story that showed audiences what happens behind the scenes at the animation studio and The Imagineering Story, which gives viewers a look at how Disney develops rides and attractions for its parks. She will co-direct the documentary with Mark Catalena, who served as editor for The Imagineering Story. Meanwhile, Berlanti is a prolific writer, director and producer who’d previously worked on Doom Patrol, Supergirl, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, Superman and Lois, The Flash and Black Lightning.

Jim Lee, DC’s Publisher and Chief Creative Officer, said in a statement:

“DC has a rich legacy of over 80 years of iconic storytelling: from the introduction of the genre defining Super Hero Superman in 1938 to the amazing movies, TV shows, cartoons, games and comics which have been synonymous with superheroism for generations thereafter. We are so excited to dive into this history and bring fans along this amazing journey.”

The docu series doesn’t have a release date yet, but it will expand HBO Max’s DC offerings further when it arrives. WarnerMedia started migrating all DC Universe content to HBO Max last year, making the former streaming platform a comics-only subscription service.
