Moto Tab G20 is a surprising return to the tablet market

Motorola has been trying hard to reclaim its lost position in the mobile market, mostly by flooding it with innumerable smartphones on almost every tier. It even launched two (or one and a half) foldable clamshell phones under the RAZR brand. What it hasn’t done yet is to make a comeback in the tablet market. That seems to have changed … Continue reading

Fairphone 4 launched with a five-year warranty

Fairphone has definitely come a long way since it launched its first phone way back in 2013. Galaxy S22 cases and batteries add to the bad news

We’re still about four months away from its expected debut, but most of the information about the Galaxy S22 series have fallen into place. Ophthalmologist Uses The iPhone 13 Pro’s Macro Camera To Check On Patients’ Eyes

One of the new features of the iPhone 13 Pro is a Macro mode that allows users to capture close up images, more so than your regular zoom. For those who are into macro photography, this might actually be something worth checking out, but it seems that it might have use beyond photography.

In a post on LinkedIn, Dr. Tommy Korn, an ophthalmologist has shared how he actually manages to use the iPhone 13 Pro’s Macro mode when looking into the eyes of his patients. It turns out that Macro mode might have more uses beyond capturing close up photos of flowers and insects, because based on the sample photos he attached to his post, the details are actually surprisingly good.

According to Korn, “Been using the iPhone 13 Pro Max for MACRO eye photos this week. Impressed. Will innovate patient eye care & telemedicine. forward to seeing where it goes.” What makes this even more impressive is the fact that Apple did not introduce any new camera lenses in the iPhone 13 Pro specifically for Macro mode, so what we’re seeing now is the result of software.

We highly doubt that a smartphone will be able to replace proper dedicated medical equipment, but it might be useful in a pinch or in situations where doctors need to travel to remote villages and can’t bring all their equipment with them.
